Have you quit or been laid off of your job?

I'm just wondering who else out there has actually taken the chance and left their job or been forced to leave.

I was personally laid off on January 4th, 2010 and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Tell me your story and how/why you either quit or were laid off and what you plan to do now or already have done.



P.S. If you need someone to talk to, I'm free to help with any questions. I have only been out of a job for a little under 2 years, but in those 2 years I have learned and done so much more than a job would have helped me achieve.

P.P.S. Also if you absolutely love your job, that's all yours and I think you should stick with it.

    i got hurt on my job July 2010! I was a commercial salesman at Lowes Home improvement store & handled many large accounts in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The new Cowboy stadium just north of us abut 4 miles was my largest account as well as city & schools etc.

    I tore a ligament in my left foot & while out on short term disability my right knee went out. Now waiting replacement! OK Lowes had no compensation or i should say disqualified me from compensation & health care on their technicality of non report with in 24 hrs....false i did..........but couldn't prove it... didn't feel like fighting Mr. forgetful sales manager!!

    All is good & like you a blessing in disguise I had already been dabbling in affiliate marketing using facebook & wp sites on google but was still in learning mode! I found my way to this forum last month & highly appreciate the social aspect of the relationships & like minded people! I am not here to do drive by's or sale some guru crap but I like the honest good ol hard work SEO marketing to a target that is looking in that niche. would love to change ideas with you & others anytime! thanks for opening this thread!

    I wish I want to share my story here for super long long time.......

    I've been circling around on different job for 6 years, from a just a waiter, cinema ticket seller until to office boy , I was keep wondering how the heck I can make more money by just keep working and working day and day just for the sake of feed the family. As a only son in the home, I've kept thinking how to do , how to manage it , how to increase, but seems every time facing the same thing , which is the unfair treatment from the boss, low payment and the boss himself getting rich, work 9-5 or even 10-10.

    The day just pass very fast and seems I done nothing ! Recently I hold a marketing assistant for a small company for nearly 6 month , and I just don't get it , there is always empty promise, learn just few things which people don't wish to teach , when I found out about internet business seminar at the locals, I put every excitement of learning spirit to go for it, meet a lot of new friends , and gain a lot of knowledge. Since that day which change my life about why I'm suppose to create my own life instead of wasting time to let other people rich while I'm keep getting poor, I decide to quit my job and focus on building my personal asset. Why not ? This decision seems unacceptable for somebody, but this is my personal decision , I do what I think was right , and I'm write the script of life. That's how life suppose to be, choose you want to, not you have to.

    Right now, I'm relief after I speak it out. =)
