My Name Is FEAR

My name is FEAR. I reside mostly in everyone's heart or chest area. Sometimes I hang around at the jaw or the pancreas. I'm always around somewhere, playing hide and seek with you. When you find me, I immediately go into hiding again. Seriously, in the history of mankind no one has ever gotten rid of me, that includes you.



My job is to immobilize you. My sole responsibility is to stop you from moving forward so that you can't get the things you want. I have fun watching you struggling between taking action and staying put.


I love to create havoc in your little brain. Sometimes I appear in the form of a voice, tricking you into believing that is your voice. I enjoy those little debates that we have over some decisions. You want decision A, but I whisper to you that decision B is better because you will have certainty. And yes, I win again. You are staying put, you won't be making too much changes to your life.



Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm doing this for your own good.



Remember the time when I got you out of that confrontational situation. You might go through an emotional turmoil if you went head on with that colleague. I got you to avoid it, and you were safe.



And remember the other time when you almost lost all your money investing in that business. Fortunately in the end you listened to me, and pulled back on that decision.



Ok, there was only once I influenced you not to start that software business. Now that business is worth $23 million. Though you lost that opportunity, you are free from all the stress of an entrepreneur. You don't get to risk your life savings, and the relationship with your family. My intention is always to keep you safe.



Yes, all I want to do is to ensure that you will not be hurt. I don't want you to feel the pain of losing something. I always want to ensure that you have certainty before you make your move. I won't wish to see you heartbroken, feeling all those bad emotions, and experiencing negative incidents. Isn't that what you want in life? To be safe? And I make sure you are safe.

Hello FEAR, my name is ME. It's funny,because even though we are not married, we are going stay together till death do us part. I sometimes wish that we can do a divorce, but you will not go away that easily.



I know that you want me to be safe, to protect my feelings, to prevent me from having bad experiences. But I do not need you to tell me what to do with my life. I don't need you to tell me what is good and bad.



You are preventing me from taking massive action. You are limiting my growth. You are restricting my power. What you are doing is not supporting in where I want to go. My energy is drained just dealing with you. Those times when you deceived me left me with regrets in life. I invalidated myself because of the things I didn't do. You, trickery, I want you out of my life once and for all.



I want to experience my life to its maximum. I am here as a spirit to experience a full spectrum of life. I am here to create new possibilities for myself. I am here to go through what I needed to go through in life to get what I needed to get. Your presence limits my exploration of new possibilities. You stop my growth.



So FEAR, hear this. I do not need your protection. I do not need to feel safe. I am good enough to handle all risks and hazardous experiences. I would very much like to explore the unknown. There lies the possibilities. Stay away from me. I will call upon COURAGE, STRENGTH and WISDOM to guard against your trickery.



I am ready to soar now. Ready to pick up my bag to take on the role of an explorer to seek out new grounds, new possibilities, new experiences. This is what I am meant to do in this lifetime.
