Introduction for a Late Bloomer

Hi everyone! My name is Cissy and I am new to all this. I am reading and studying as much as I can to get started in Internet marketing. I am 50 and finally decided that I am ready to move on to another page in life, hopefully more successful and enjoyable than the nine to five part-time employment I am still hanging on to until I get the hang of this. So far I have enjoyed and understood all the reading I am doing and I am ready to dive in and start making a change.

    Nice to meet you Cissy!

I have some advice for you that I wish that I had followed early on.

    1) For every hour you spend "lurking" and studying, spend 3 hours taking some type of action.

    2) ALSO... NEVER buy a 2nd course/product until you have totally gone through the first one and put it to practice, assuming it is what you expected.

    3) Don't believe everything you see. Yes, there are real success stories on here and people who really want to help you. But there are also some folks in online marketing that have gone to the "dark side."

    4) Keep up the enthusiasm and don't get discouraged. Put in the time. Obtain the knowledge you need. Even if you can't think of a product or service you can offer online... if you keep learning and applying... all of a sudden it will "hit" you what you want to use you newly acquired online skills to do.

    Wishing you the best.

Cissy. Welcome to the forum. I, too, was a late bloomer, as my career was corporate America.

First of all, with IM, there is a lot to learn (especially technical stuff) take your time to learn what you need. There are plenty of experienced and sucessful people on this forum. You can get answers here to nearly any subject you're fuzzy on.

Second, stay focused on your goals. I cannot stress that enough. You will hear and read about the next best product for making money online. Yes, many of them do work, however, you cannot do them all at once. So, concentrate on the method you've chosen. Maybe you want to master article marketing or make money through Amazon. My advice, find a good training program or course, stick with it and put what you've learned into action.

I wasted more than a year, jumping from one method to the other and was getting nowhere. Use your time productively, setting a goal for the day and completing it.

Again, the Warrior forum is a great place to kick off your online ventures!

    Welcome Cissy,

You've received some great advice from Debra and George. They are both right. I too have wasted time jumping from one thing to another. It wasn't until I buckled down and stuck to one thing that it really started to work.
It's going to be tough sometimes. You will run into problems. Don't let it get you down. Success can be right around the corner and if you give up you will never reach it.
