How do you feel about the business opportunity market?

This question is directed towards non-business opportunity marketers. But, anyone can reply.

What are your positive/negative opinions about the biz opp market?

Please be descriptive.

    Hi,
    I have been on the list of many and bought a lot of stuff in bizopp over the years, mainly because I am a copy junkie.

    I am in marketing myself and stay away from it.

    Mainly because it is an affiliates game until you are big enough / good enough as there is such great quality out there at such cheap prices and I think it is harder to get long term relationships with clients as an affiliate.

    If you can find one thing that works (or maybe a couple) and focus on that it is better. I mean if you are big player and you can outsource quickly and get a zillion things happening then go for it but I think better off to pick a herd that is better suited to long term development and offer them real value and education and they will be lining up to pay you consulting fees and high end stuff.

    What will your USP be if you are in the biz opp game, what have you done that will get them to develop long term relationships with you?

    I am sure that some affiliates are shaking their heads saying that it is simply giving junkies the fix they want but I think stay away from it until you can add value to it or are good enough that you can cut it in that game.

    P.S. I guess if I am really honest I don't do it because it makes me kind of sad.

    It's kind of like porn chicks saying how all they really are is actresses but if they were my friend I would be sad for them.

    I think it is too much about the money and not enough about the service or the joy you get from doing it, but maybe that is stupid as we all have to feed our family.

      I think that too much of it is about money as well... not enough value offered. I was in the biz opp market for a short period of time and I didn't like it much.

      I'm skilled on the phone, so I made great money closing deals. But, I didn't like it very much. Even when you know certain things are legit, they can still make you feel sleazy.

        Find something you can and would proudly sell to your closest family
        members, something that delivers on the promises made.

        That will remove that sleazy feeling and replace it with one of pride.

        If the benefits & advantages 'are' there then you would be doing me a
        disservice by not closing me.

          I always operate from a standpoint of pride. Also, the business opportunities that I involved myself in were great.

          I used the term "sleazy" to emphasize how I would feel when a new member joined my team, that I knew wouldn't make any money. In fact, there were times when I would turn people away, because of this.

          Another thing that I didn't like was that most people in that market really have the "get rich quick" mentality, which is very unrealistic.

    I definitely see the glass as half full. There is no better time than now to take advantage of the numerous business opportunities available. The internet has basically level the playing field. The world is the market. I'm very excited about the potential that exist, and my thinking is, it can only get better.

      The thing to remember about the biz opp market is that it is GIGANTIC.

      There are so many different kinds of opportunities that it's mind boggling. Everything from mlm to paid surveys to you name it. Even franchises fall into the biz opp category and the competition in that market would make your head spin.

      Ultimately it's about finding a niche customer that you really want to serve. Going after the larger market is simply not smart - it's too darn big.

      Positive or negative? Everyone has their own opinions. The fact is that companies competing in the biz opp arena have to do crazy things to get traffic...heck, to even get noticed. That's just the way the game works.

            The biz oppmarket in opinion is very competitive and needs someone with a whole load of cash to get things going and go on an upward spiral.

            Business is about how much capital you have and how you deploy it right. My suggestion is that you find an area that you really really like and just focus.

            My opinion is that, you don't know the difference between a question and an opinion. Otherwise your opinion wouldn't be a question.

            Here's some advice. When you are blatantly and unnecessarily being a smart ass-you have to be sharper than this. What's funny to me, is that you almost pulled it off.

            Next time, consider your wording. Here's an example of the right way and the wrong way:

            The wrong way (what you wrote): "My opinion is what does your question have to do with success, power, or self-improvement?"

            You see... your opinion can't use the words "what does" back to back. Also, you can't use a question mark (?). These elements, change your opinion into a question.

            The right way (what you should have said): "My opinion is that your question has nothing to do with success, power, or self-improvement."

            Do you see the difference? Clearly, this is an opinion. No ambiguity whatsoever. And, this get's the message out that I am clearly a screw up for posting this question in the wrong area. Not to mention-it's good sarcasm.

            Listen... all you need is a little more practice. And since I will be posting in this forum from now on. You will have plenty opportunities to insult me.

            Hell... I may even be able to teach you how to be a better asshole.

              In my opinion your last post, attacking someone for asking a question that anyone has the right to ask, is a disgrace to this and any other forum.

              You obviously have your reasons for such an outburst, but they are of no interest to me.

              I have never visited this section of the forum before and if this is the calibre of the post threads here, I doubt that I will ever visit again.

    There are a lot of opportunities out there but people need to inject a does of realism.

    Only 20% of small businesses survive their first 5 years. Of those that do, 80% will not survive the next 5. In other words, only 4 out of 100 small businesses survive their first 10 years.

    Why? Because people don't know how to build a sustainable business. Most important, in terms of this area of the forum, they don't understand that how you think is more important than what you know. Yes the what is important, but you can outsource the what. You can't outsource how you think.

    I feel it's over saturated with garbage programs now. Of course you have to do your homework on any business opp before you decide to join. There are still great programs that can generate anyone over $10k a month within a few months if you know how to market and build a large list.
