Freedom

Freedom is the choice to live your life, the way that you choose to,,,,,

most people think their freedom is a freedom TO do whatever. For the most part they're wrong -- it's a freedom FROM. The men on the mayflower were sailing FROM tyranny, our soldiers fight so we can free be FROM terrorist bullies and we as IMers are getting free FROM financial stress and meaningless daily routine (being an employee).

All that just to say that my own freedom has everything to do with living a life without regrets. As you can tell from my post count, I'm just getting started but learning to be a profitable IM is the next step in my journey. What's your next step to freedom?

Freedom to me is having options. Not being tied down to do anything, but simply being able to do what you want under your own terms.

Freedom for me are means to achieve the purpose and meaning in life.

Freedom is my ability to choose my actions.

Freedom is the power to make what I have in my mind. To own what I want, to be what I want and to move when I want.

Freedom is the oxygen of the soul. Freedom is that instant between when someone tells you to do something and when you decide how to respond.

Freedom is your ability to make choices.

I will disagree with most of these replies. Freedom can only be achieved by actualizing your goals. It is acquiring wealth from within, being independent from lack of what you require in life. You cannot acquire freedom unless you actualize your potential.

Freedom is being able to do what you want to do, when you want to do it, but you must be responsible and accountable for your actions.

Freedom is the state of being free from the control or power of another.


The Buddha has given full freedom for man to think freely without depending on the concept of a god, a Buddha or any teacher to understand the truth. That is freedom. According to some western thinkers Buddhism is known as. "the religion of freedom and reason". Freedom however must be guided by reason. Otherwise, people can abuse that freedom. For instance, if a government gives full freedom for people to live or to do anything according to their free will I am sure that within twenty four hours, they can ruin the whole country.

Freedom is often considered to be the ability to choose and to do what one pleases. Yet, this definition of freedom is just simply wrong! No one, anywhere at any time is ever free to do what they want, as they please. We are all limited by laws, be they man-made or natural. We may challenge man-made laws and even seek to have them molded to our wishes.

Transcendence of need to give in to social norms and to the pressures of mere survival and to live for a higher purpose.

In my opinion, freedom means, what you can think, you can do that, normally people change their minds and decisions when they face some difficulties and hard times in their life, so i think they are not familiar with the meanings of freedom. Freedom means no boundaries no limits, what you can think you can really achieve that. Do you guys agree with me?

Freedom to me is a total congruence between your inner world and your outer world.

Once these two find the ultimate state of equilibrium life becomes a truly joyful experience.

Freedom means to do what I want, when I want.

The word 'Freedom' has several meanings hidden inside it. We find two types of freedom: individual freedom and national freedom. By national freedom we understand that a nation is free from foreign domination and interference of anyone outside the country. A free nation can progress easily according to its own ideologies and religious beliefs. No one can restrict it from making new discoveries of science and technology or can check its people to act in accordance with their personal beliefs and thinking.

But my view is a bit different in this matter. I think that individual freedom means that a person has a right to do what is fair and good. Freedom does not mean that a person can do any act on his part which is immoral and he can make his character good or bad according to his own will. Rather he should be subject to the moral principles, cultural norms and religious beliefs. Freedom means that no one can check you from doing good deeds; no one can restrict your kind and gentle attitude towards others; no one can check you from considering the people of all religions and sects equal to each other and treating them equally and judiciously.

It's very hard to describe freedom. You always feel some kind of constraint in your life. Would that make freedom "lack of constraints"? I don't know. For me, freedom is a feeling very similar to happiness. I felt truly free one time while swimming in the sea at sunrise. That was the strongest feeling of freedom I ever had.

freedom means that im rich. it could take 20k per year to be free and rich in life. all i want to do is enjoy the time that i have here on earth without working my butt off at a day to day job.. even if i made 1mil per year but had to work 12 hrs per day would suck compared to 20k per year with no bills and no job i could just travel, explore and enjoy life.
