UNeducate yourself to get ahead.

Wanting to get further ahead quickly I think sometimes we get caught up in the frenzy of it all.

We've all get dreamy eyed when we see big numbers of the most successful, we get excited about a new technique or tip to beat the system.

Quite often this holds us back because we try to replicate that instead of following and implementing what we are best at, our own unique qualities that we can use to make our business work.

Un-educate yourself from the frenzy of it all, from all the hype that you've built within. Know that not everything you learn is good for you and that sometimes is good to step back and question even the "standard" which others have used for years.

Find what's at the core of what truly matters to you and you'll find that you already know the path to get there, and yes you'll pick up a few useful things along the way but also letting go of some gathered information will be good.

This is the advice I will follow into 2012.

Best of luck to everyone.

Have read the book called "the game". very thought provoking ideas similar to what you are saying and the truth is that common knowledge is typically flawed . if you are to become successful , you can't act like everybody else is doing . you are going to need to unlearn the negative programming that is holding you back and stop doing the things that are hurting your success

    Cheers ,

I read The Game years ago when it first came out but I have such a bad memory that I don't remember most of it - specially something like this. I'll have to re read it again - thanks for the message.

And I actually did video work for Neil Strauss years ago also - way before any interest in Internet marketing. Little did I know that it was part of a bigger hub that we all share (IM) and one which I would be more immersed in. Small world.

Yes, you might be right about this. Most people today focus on unreachable goals and sometimes miss to look at the lefts and rights of life without knowing that the best things in life are those that are less appreciated. Then, we'll just know that we had it when we lost it.

Good point Christiani! Sometimes we have to unlearn things in order to prosper, because when we learn things in the wrong way (things that do not serve us well), we have to be willing to let go and replace them with something else.

We all takes things for granted based on the ideas we hold in our heads. Change your ideas or interpretation of the world, people, circumstances, and everything else would change.

    Perception is reality.

Isn't this "uneducating yourself" another way of saying "going back to basics"?

I find often at times, everyone always find the most complicated route out, while there is a much straight forward way that people often miss, often because they overthink things. Everyone does it.

If you are ever in a tight bind, and don't know what to do to continue, try going back to the very first step. Maybe a path will shine
