what kind of computer

hello warriors,

I have been lurking around trying tp find if this topic has been discussed before but i haven't fond any one. my question is: what kind of computer do you need to buy for IM work, HTML editing, webdesign, SEO analyzer. My computer is pretty old and with all the software i mentioned; it tend to freeze and all my unsaved work is lost. also is easier for you to work on a lapt top on your lap or having a pc on a desk and siting in an isolated room away from tv and your kids noise.

Let me know whats a good computer/laptop to buy to be capable of doing such work with no headaches.

thanks in advance

Any modern computer should be able to handle the demands of the average Internet marketer.

I have an AMD dual-core that's more than 4 years old; but that's ancient compared to what's out today. However, it stands up well to all the multiple tasks I subject it to.

Just as long as you have more than 2gigabytes of RAM and you have a very good graphics and sound card, you are good to go . Btw, if its a laptop, make sure the battery life is longer than two hours.

In fact I was searching for Laptops online yesterday. I have a two year old desktop with 4 GB RAM and a Core 2 Duo Processor. Want to purchase a Laptop so I can keep working on the move.

Here are 2 models which I think are real good buys :

    1. Lenovo 1450 ABU AMD E Series ... 4 GB RAM ... 320 GB HDD ... 15.6" Monitor
Available on Best Buy for $ 299.99 Store Pickup SKU 3756321

    2. ASUS K52N - BGR5 AMD Turion II ... 6 GB RAM ... 500 GH HDD ... 15.6 " Monitor
Available on Tiger Direct for $ 399.99 [Refurbished Model]

I'd also recommend a Linux based OS like UBUNTU. Hogs less resources than Windows OS's.

Thanks for the inputs every one, I would definaly check out the lenovo @ Best buy. I heard they are made by IBM. Im not an expert when it comes to OS. Is there a massive difference when the OS is Linux rather than Windows or MAC.

I think with a reasonable computer you can get a lot done.

If you want a really responsive and fast computer you should consider to equip your computer with a solid state drive instead of a hard disk.

This comes with a price tag, but this really speeds up your computer. And after turning your computer on it will be a matter of seconds before everything is up and running.

I'm using a $400 HP laptop and have come across no limitations. You don't need some super machine to run an IM business efficiently. I would imagine any new machine you buy on newegg or where ever would suffice to your needs.

Yes Lenovo are an IBM company.

Teh best thing about Lenovo here in Australia is that you can extend your warranty to next business day on site for $199 - 3 years.

an i3 would do you okay as well, Im and editing etc doesn't take much processing power.

If you want to be productive, GET TWO MONITORS.

This will increase your productivity by about 20% minimum.

When selecting a new pc, it's essential to know what it's going to be used for and who is going to be using it. You don't want to buy mother a pc and anticipate her to be eliminating things in an activity.

I agree, But we all know how much they go for and for some reason ever since I started the online IM , I still didn't make any money off it, pay host and all that and not $1 in return. so I'm trying to eliminate as much loses as possible. On the bright side I googled baby seat today and I found my website the 4rt in there. Could that be true? What am I suppose to do next.
