Arnold Schwarzenegger shares his 6 Rules to a Successful life in a short yet incredibly inspirational speech (video on you tube). Here are the 6 Rules:
1. Trust Yourself

Trust yourself no matter what anyone else thinks.
2. Break the Rules

“Well behaved women rarely make history.” Arnold talks about breaking rules and how he broke rules to enter the rules of Hollywood to become a successful actor.
3. Don’t Be Afraid to Fail

If you are afraid, you were never try. If you never try you won’t ever succeed.
4. Ignore (Don’t Listen to) the Naysayer

Don’t pay attention to naysayer. People will say it can’t be done, people will give 100 reasons why this can not be done. Do not take No for an answer.
5. Work Your Butt Off

You never want to fail because you did not work hard enough and don’t leave any stone unturned. There is no escape; you must work hard.
6. Giving Something Back

Whatever path you take in life, always find time to give back to the community.

I hope this helps...

    Thanks for sharing AJ

I really agree with the first rule. You should trust and believe in yourself that you can do anything. Take negative feedbacks as a challenge to yourself and show them what you can do.

I think giving back is the best part. I always believed that we seem to get what we put in. Whether that's good or bad. Always try to help others. Thanks for sharing!

So true about the naysayers...anytime anyone states an intention or begins making changes, resistance comes out of the woodwork. Family and friends feel compelled to tell you why it won't work or how they are worrying about you because they love you.

BULL!!! It is almost ALWAYS about THEIR fears. Fears your relationship will change, fear that you will grow and then they either have to or feel bad because they aren't, or trying to discourage you because they don't believe they could achieve such a thing.

Ignore this and smile. I learn to laugh at them and laugh at how silly their fears and mine are...or naysayers will suck the life out of you.

Very true, unfortunately. It never ceases to amaze me how negative people are - almost as if it's a societal default setting or something.

When I make changes in my life, one of the largest (if not the largest) obstacle(s) I have to overcome is the response and subtle resistance of my family and friends. Sad, really.

When it comes down to it, though, there's not a lot you can do to change peoples' reactions - so all you can do is build up an immunity to it.

On that note.. Merry Christmas! ;-)

  • Thank you, wise words. If you believe in success - that you succeed. If you do not believe - that you will not succeed. Of course everything should be backed up by action. My friend said ... Pray as if everything depended on God ... work as if everything depended on you.

Very nice and simple 6 rules!
I like the "don’t leave any stone unturned", so true, you have have to try so many things before succeeding. Some lucky people are successful just by luck on the first try but for rest of us, we have to create our own "luck" by trying different things untill we run out of things to fail in and we finally succeed :-)

    Would you share the video?

Very nice list. However it is so hard to keep working even when we do not see progress from all our efforts. This is especially for the newbie who is starting off with the internet marketing business.

Good stuff, it reminds me of the Self Image that is research by Dr. Maxwell Maltz i read. I think some of these rules could be reworded differently too. For example, Break The Rules to mean Take Necessary Risks. Give Something Back could be Abundance.

A little known fact about Arnold Schwarzenegger is that, upon arriving in the USA to compete in professional bodybuilding, he professed to coach Joe Weider that he would one day like to move from bodybuidling into acting, then property and finally politics. While many could have forgiven Weider for not paying too much attention to those pipe dreams, Arnold then went onto accomplish every single one in the exact order he planned to.
