Find something that's evergreen (i.e. won't disappear and has been around for a while) and that you enjoy. Learn about it and stick to it! Don't try to be a jack of all trades and don't switch paths at the first obstacle you hit.

You say you've made and lost money - good. That means you take action. Work on developing a more positive mindset and focus your efforts in one area. Don't stop until you see success. It'll happen for you.

You have to find a method that works for you.

If you've earned money before using 1 method, stick to that until you see success. If you've earned money from that, it tells you that you're doing something right. Add a twist to it. IM is all about testing what works.

I'm not sure what your current business model is but I think with some people the reason that they find it so difficult to go full time is that they try and monetise in a way which makes it difficult to succeed.

For example you can make a lot of money with adsense but the amount of traffic required is huge and so it is difficult to quickly switch to a full time IM'er if you are approaching from that direction.

I would recommend you look at a business model where you can quickly start to make some sales so that you can go full time sooner.

Its hard to be more specific though because I don't know what kind of business you want to run, whether you have a list etc.

I've been trying without sufficient success since 2006. I thought that I held the record.

I am not quite where you are at, but I feel ya!

    Should that feeling be fought?

Michael, 5 years is a long time, but I can tell you've picked up a lot along the way. I see you understand anchor text, and you have great exact match domain names - which shows you're paying attention... but you need to target your keywords a little better - it's very unlikely that "medicine" is ever going to be a word you could dominate, but "premed requirements" is probably anchor text that gets some good traffic and is something you could focus on.

Just my two cents... try zooming in a little tighter with your keywords and SEO. Don't try to own the world, just own the teeny, tiny little slice of the world that is your main keyword... You can do it.

        Thank you for the feedback...

Perhaps CPA is the way to go.

Bestbuddy1986 if you really want to do this, keep going!

I started Internet Marketing in 2006... I've also made some money and lost money and nothing has been consistent. It wasn't until this year that I finally found a plan that suits me and am now seeing success.

You have a big advantage... you've been experimenting with different techniques and learning all this time... this means that you should have some idea now of which techniques you prefer and which ones you hate and can't honestly see yourself doing (unless you can outsource it, that is). For me I discovered that I am no good at affiliate marketing, article writing or free traffic methods. What I do see regular success is with creating my own products and PPC. You mentioned that CPA is your thing.

You are going to be a full-time marketer doing CPA. You already know that you've had success in it and it obviously interests you enough to continue to pursue it. People make tons with CPA... I saw someone on this forum recently that makes something like $70,000+ profit a month (I think) doing CPA with PPC.

FOCUS on CPA. Don't get distracted and decide to try something else that sparks your interest. This will only slow you down! You can try it out after you are successful and have met your goals doing CPA. I can't stress this enough... one thing at a time. This was my biggest pitfall.

Now find out who the masters of CPA are. The guys who are successful with it. Read their blogs, forum posts, products and WSOs if they have any, or even email them directly for advice. Check out their CPA websites and advertising if you can to see exactly what they are doing. Combine your research as well as your own ideas into an action plan. Then do it and focus on nothing else but that.

Remind yourself everyday why you are doing this. What will happen if you achieve it? What will happen if you won't? Others have done it, there's no reason why you can't. You already have the advantage of having some years of experience trying under your belt. I believe in you!

Remember, that it is not important whether you are making money or not in order to be a full-time anything. Clearly, this is your passion. You have said it yourself. You simply haven't succeeded at it. But guess what? Nobody succeeds at their passion within first 5 years. In a large majority of cases it takes 10 years (or 10,000 hours of focused practice). This has been scientifically proven.

Good Luck. And don't ever give up. You'll get there, it's just a matter of time. Stick to it.

Take time to look at the various methods available of making money online. You have said cpa...good! If you are sure thats the way to go, shut out the rest of the world and focus on cpa alone! No matter what you hear disregard it and just focus on cpa! If there are hundreds upon hundreds of people earning a very very comfortable living from cpa, why can't you? So now is to study the industry and know how to build a successful business and hold nothing back. Success is imminent so do not give up! We are all striving to make it. And as there are many internet millionaires, are there people who were in your current situation. All the best mate! And keep at it until you start to make progress.

    Hi bb,

You noted 1 clue: made money, lost money.

Work on your prosperity consciousness. If you are not steadily increasing your net worth you are blocking money, and success, on some level.

    Have you ever performed affirmations?
