Why Visualise for success if all you need is ACTION?

Hi ALL

I had this confusion/thought in my mind all night and had to come ask it here...

I was reading an online page whilst in bed regarding the Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel.

On this page, the person emphasised how the author Haanel, was clearly suggesting HARD WORK! and EFFORT! facing the fear and yet pushing through it too.

That no success is ever achieved without doing the work, and doing the hard work necessary.

Now the clear question then arose why visualise for success, when you can and alot im sure do take hard work and make efforts to achieve their successes in life?

In another book, The power of the subconscious mind, by Joseph Murphy, the opposite impression was what i had seemed to find, that the effort is in visualising consistently he dream, the action itself becomes natural and thus easy.

So what is the answer to this conundrum?

Thank you

I think you are just reading two different approaches to the same problem. One writer is emphasizing more on the work part, the other on the visualizing part. IMO you absolutely need both to achieve something. If you have no clear idea of where you are going, how will you know if you get there? On the other hand, if you know where you are going but don't put in the work, how can you expect to get there?

Even if hard work seems to become "natural and easy" because you have the drive to make your dreams happen, it is still hard work.

You wouldn't take massive action unless you had something to strive for....

Hence when you visualize, it re-iterates the actions you are doing as they are for a greater goal

    Hope that helps

I want more coffee... I can visualize myself getting that coffee right now, and how good it is.

I can visualize that without thinking about it. That's how natural it is.

Achieving that success, should be as easy to visualize as seeing myself get that second cup of coffee. I'm already mentally programmed for the caffeine so there's no unconscious challenges there. Visualization for something much bigger - lifechanging success - takes more training. Confidence-building, reason to believe in yourself (as in, your unconscious mind SEES you succeeding already and building on it), etc etc etc

You need an idea of where exactly you're going, lest you drive around aimlessly. On the same token, just sitting and thinking about it, doing nothing, will also go nowhere.

That coffee's not gonna make itself...

By thought, what you want is brought to you.

    Through acting, you receive it.

Most spend 98% of the time acting, focusing entirely on the receiving part, spinning their wheels because their thoughts are here, there, all over the place, not directed to 1 end, 1 definite major purpose.

Work on mental science and your acts become uber effective, meaning you do not have to slave like a beast to make things happen. 1 effective act can be worth hour's worth of mindless, slaving work. Take it from a guy who has been there.

You do need to move into action but when you become *really good* at visualizing, and holding an intent while you work, the work becomes effortless. You feel light, relaxed and at peace as you act, so it's play, not work, and play is fun.

Because as far as I've heard it helps imprint the images into your super conscious mind and helps create ideas that can be used to help you in that direction.

What I mean is that, I can plan to do something and still take action, so what is the difference with my brainstorming, planning to desire to do something and take action, as opposed to visualising and then taking action? Im trying to workout the added benefit of adding visualisation?

Ofcos i do procrastinate alot, and im adding that here, incase anyone says 'oh with visualisation you wont procrastinate' because then im thinking if i have to still take conscious not automatic action, after visualising, then wont i still procrastinate?

      thankyou
