Daily Goal setting can be powerful

I know this is not rocket science but thought i'd just set a reminder

If you would like to have a much more productive week or a bit more motivation to get more things done, why not write out a few goals every night before you go to bed for the next day's completion. These only have to be small goals, like returning an email or a phone call to a friend you keep putting off, maybe set a goal to work out each day. The point here is to give you a personal understanding of how powerful it is to have any goals no matter how big or small, in writing.

As you finish each goal, cross it off the list and you will feel a lot better for completing it. When I started doing this a while back I wrote down 10 small goals each night and set out to complete each one in turn the next day. I was greatly surprised by how simple, yet powerful this practice is.

It is amazing how much more productive each day becomes just by doing this simple process. There's something really powerful in writing things down, getting them out of your head and onto paper. Try it for one week and you will see for yourself...remember, even though the goals are small, the accumulation of them all over the course of one week really does add up.

Most definitely this works. You know what they say, an object in motion is much more likely to stay in motion or something like that. Retsced is absolutely correct. When I do this I inevitably have at least a more productive morning but usually it carries into the whole day.

    Hope this helps and inspires

Hey retsced, you are right on. I do that and I not only get more done that next day, but I also get a better nights sleep knowing that I don't have to think about things I have to do or things I might forget.

So true. I always try to have a plan in place for the next day before I go to bed. I use Goodtodo (Good Todo: online to do list for productivity) to keep track of my tasks on a day-by-day basis and schedule things in iCal. Works like a charm!

Also, schedule your most important tasks for early in the day.

As online entrepreneurs, I'm sure it's beneficial for you guys to do daily goals. I just wanted to chime in that my New Years resolution this year was to focus more on week-oriented goals, as daily is too often for me. One of my favorite bloggers recommended weekly goal-planning and it's benefit - it's like having a New Years resolution every week, where you get a chance to fix any goals you didn't accomplish. Plus, isn't it easier to think that you've got 1000's of weeks left of your life rather than just 50 years?

I have also proved it helpful. Writing down my daily tasks make me more focused and made it easier for me to finish everything before the time I allotted for each task.

This goes from person to person, some people feel to much pressure to have a to do list hanging above their heads, some people need to have everything written down. I do like to have all my goals written to see where i am at the moment.

It's always good to maintain your daily goals. Don't try to break it, just keep focused and motivated on what you're after.
