The Three Best Factors That Guarantee Success

In my experience it is not difficult to get business, but it is quite difficult to fulfill the work when you are trying to grow a business fast (success) at the same time, without major financing. The three factors that practically guarantee success are:

1. Networking -- getting referrals
2. Teaming -- division of responsibilities
3. Having a system

Many of the people I see on this forum are doing things solo, and some (many?) even have jobs. Online marketing has matured and is pretty much like any other business area. It is difficult to get to a level of income where you can grow your business without the above, I believe.

With respect to networking and teaming, I have found that a lot of people seem to be clueless. Most people seem to have no idea how the be part of an enterprising culture, probably because it doesn't seem to exist in most places. For example, it should be second nature to give and get referrals. That is what makes networking so effective with the right circle of people.

Consider, every business person I have ever asked, without exception, has told met that most of their new business comes from referrals.

With respect to Internet Marketing, there is so much to do now that to get to 10K/mo. or more you either have to take a lot of time by yourself, i.e. wait for years sometimes to make that much, or you better work with others. If you have watched the field, you may have noticed how many more people are working with others as compared to just a couple of years ago.

What do you readers think and how does building a business fit into your goals?

I absolutely agree, with one small adjustment.
In my humble opinion, based on my own experience, the word "system" becomes a problem over time, growing a life of it's own and losing its flexibility.

    Instead, I would say,

    3. Dedicated, focused, organized work.

If I understand you right, I am thinking that in a way you are referring to "bureacracy" with the negative connotations. I agree that "systems" can be counter-productive when people start to take them too seriously.

Btw, am sending you a pm shortly. Had to get the qualified number of posts, lol.

I agree with this" part of an enterprising culture, probably because it doesn't seem to exist in most places"

I am now drawn to places that have an enterprising culture. Its boring without it to me. Once you have been in a true enterprising culture you really never want to leave and go back.

Without a good measurement system for your structure you wont be able to monitor your progress.

This is absolutely true. If you want your business to become successful, these three simple tips may help you out. Having your own business is not really difficult, but you can say that it's really "difficult" because of no motivation and focus to fulfill it. And another thing, be positive.

It's true that no business is completely run in isolation. Even if you're working entirely by yourself as far as order fulfillment, you've still got to work with your clients, including getting clients in the first place. And you should always ask satisfied clients for referrals.

If you're working at a product-oriented business that doesn't involve clients, you're still going to be dealing with customers, even on an indirect basis. And if your business grows beyond what you can handle on your own, either in a service or product-related business, you're going to have to hire help.

You can be an "island" in business, but only to a certain extent. Even the most famous reclusive authors have publishers they have to talk to once in a while.
