How To Avoid Energy Draining Comparisons To Success

Are you guilty of making energy draining comparisons? Or am I the only one who's made that mistake? Many people make them, especially when it comes to success, achievements or even possessions.

Making comparisons can cause low self-esteem, resentment or even a feeling of inadequacy (All obstacles to growth and success). For example, do you find yourself comparing post counts or number of thank you post with other Warrior members? I know people who do.

Or what about number of email list subscribers? Number of active J.V projects? Or even sales figures? I know people who do that too. It's like the Internet Marketing version of keeping up with the Jones.

I've even watched in awe as two marketers almost come to blows over who had the best Guru mentor. It's was like a "my dad is bigger or better than your dad game 7 year olds play in the school yard.

Obsessing or even focusing too much on comparisons can be hazardous to your mental health. Here's why. For example, it can throw a monkey wrench in your game plan. It can slow your growth or progress. It can even intimidate you from taking positive action if you're not careful.

Energy draining comparisons can also waste time. Why? Because while you're making comparisons - you're not taking action.

Have you noticed you can take actions or make comparisons, but you can't do both at the same time?

Making comparisons is almost automatic. We often do it without thinking. It's how most of us determine where we stand in the pecking order of life, our career or socially.

It's how we evaluate our progress too. It even helps us to improve and grow. But left unchecked it can drain your time, progress and energy on the road to success and happiness.

I agree! Stop watching others and focus on your own success.

Measure your success on how you feel with your progress as well. Not only on how much money you make as that will more often then not take time than you would like .

This is exactly what IMers and affiliate marketers should do in case their "energy" is too low to continue. We are here to become successful, not to become distracted and giving up on our dreams.

Always focus on what we should achieve in the upcoming years.
