Power of Intention Book Suggestions and a Question

I've been trying to read and learn more about the power of intention, it seems to go beyond what is taught in say, "Think and grow Rich" type books, and seems to make sense.

I've seen a number of books related to the subject, just wondering if any one can suggest any one they found really useful? Don't tell me "The Secret", already have that one, it was okay and I'll probably read it again, but I think there are probably others that are better?

I also had a question about the subject. While listening to Joe Vitale talking about it, (not sure if he's the best on the subject?), he mentioned, setting your intention and then letting it go, as if you don't really need it. I just find that odd.

Example: If some one really needs money, it would be difficult to let it go as if they didn't need the money. Guess I am having a hard time getting a gasp on that concept.

Thanks in advance

Let go of "wanting" it. Please understand this does not mean taking no action. When you have a plan to accomplish something, you follow the plan. When all you do is concentrate on wanting something you allow the wanting to keep you from doing. If you really need money (as you said) and you have a plan to acquire it, you can let go of wanting it, follow your plan and end up acquiring it. Let go of wanting, it will slow you down, trip you up, tie your hands, rattle your brain, confuse you and send you on the wrong track. It's the wanting that messes us up, not the doing.

Sorry for the delay, thanks for the reply Palo.

Yes, I understand the taking action part, my small peeve about the secret book. That makes sense what your saying, completely. But the whole letting go if it's something you really need is what gets me. Thinking time

    Thanks again.

I agree with Palo. Have an average day. Stick with that and get down to business.

I like Joe Vitale's down to earth practical presentation of subjects.
His next book 'Zero Limits' is a step up from all his previous teachings and research on the subject of self-help.
He studied with famous hawaiian doctor who practiced ancient Hooponopono system and realized that all intentions (and tools to achieve them) are actually limitations of mind trying to feel in control.
The concept described in Zero Limits is mind boggling but solution is amazingly simple, practical and proven. I tried it personally myself and got intrigued enough to get it and read, I think 3 times.

I wish I could meet Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len myself.

Thanks Gleb. I was just going to post here, because no one has mentioned any book recommendations. Though some great info has been posted.

Guess I am not the only Vitale fan. I was going to get the Attractor Factor, but sounds like what your saying, the Zero limits is a better book? Or contains much of the Attractor Factor? It's worked for you?

    Hi Ron,
Yes it does worked for me and I actually practised it right away when i first found and peeked at it in a bookstore. That was the day I was laid out from work and was at extremely depressed state of mind.
So by accident i stumbled upon the book, opened it at just the right page and was fascinated by the sayings of Dr. Hew Len.
I did what he said and forgot about it in 10 minutes.
The next day I suddenly realized that all my depression was completely gone.
In the mid of "no work", mortgage, leased car and credit card debts I was feeling surprisingly calm. I even gave my state a funny name as "feeling irresponsibly calm".
I tried to figured out why I am not depressed or panicking and the only cause for it I could trace back my state to - was that 10 minute practice the day before in a bookstore.
So I obviously grabbed the book and never looked back afterwards!

Joe Vitale himself was a bit confused about anything he wrote before Zero Limits. He realized that all intention setting and manifestation tricks and secrets (that self-help industry including himself was so hard striving for) are actually limitations and blocks on the way of self growth.
He was assured that everyone is at the different stages of growth at any given moment and whatever he wrote before will be useful for people.

Zero Limits is next step above of what he was preaching before in his previous works.

Thanks again Gleb! I will be getting that book for sure. I hate to repeat myself, but is it worth getting the Attractor Factor also, or not? Just sounds like I might be going backwards with that one, if Zero Limits is better and a sounds like a different outlook.

I guess right now, I am most interested in attracting more income. If either will help in that situation.

I have read The Secret and tremendously love it. I also read As A Man Thinketh and I have come to believe that this is the 100-year-old book that the author of The Secret was referring to. I am now trying to finish Think and Grow Rich.

The key is to have that burning desire to reach your goals. If you think of your goals all the time, you'll notice that all your actions are geared towards reaching it. It becomes part of you subconscious and becoming an efficient task master is second nature to you.

I haven't read Powerful Intentions but I would like to.

Other similar books worth reading are: Think Big and Kick Ass (Donald Trump) and Think Like a Billionaire. If you notice, the keyword here is "think" -- it's all about the mindset.

Thanks for the input. Read those, looking to move a step or two up

Hi Ron, if you'll feel good about the concepts in Zero Limits - you don't need the Attractor Factor.
Zero Limits is a step up from it. Fully encompassing and moving beyond.
It's like moving from revenge to forgiveness. It's a step up but not everyone is ready for it.

I've read several of Joe Vitale's books and "The Attractor Factor" is a favorite. He's got a new course available online (see my signature) that I'm promoting for him I'd recommend even if I weren't.

    Ron,
basically if person finds that stuff "boring" or "not appealing" for whatever reason - that it would mean it's not the right material for him.
When I read Zero Limits first time - I felt so excited and inspired - so, guess, it was good for me.
