A wounded Warrior finds his way home
Hello world.
This is my first post to a community that I am very excited to be a part of. I hope to find like minded dreamers and proven professional people like myself.
(Sorry to "pimp" myself out, But it's hard out here for a pimp) I'm totally kidding, I grew up as a fat, spoiled rotten in some areas of life and abandoned in others, suburbia kid of the 80's, location: Los angeles, California. (If you didn't hear an Austrian accent in your head just now, I really don't know what You've been doing with you're life. lol)
Let me start off by giving you even more reason to keep reading, while it may be hard to swallow, let it be known that "TheHammer" has been designing the next big "it" social networking site in his head for sometime meow. O.K. so enough of me speaking in third person, or making bad references to my favorite movies.....lol. (It scares even me sometimes) I am extremely serious about this idea. I am considering launching my own YouTube channel to create buzz for my site, which is why you are all either laughing at my small jokes or ripping you're hair out because you are feeling you've already wasted two minutes of you're life and you aren't getting "me". if that is you give me just a bit more time things are about to get juicy.
One of the phrase's that has most impacted my life was my father telling me to "Stand on the shoulders of giants". It was advice to look to the leaders in any given field and learn from their model. As a child that was born in the 80's and has been a gamer, a media sponge, a tech whore, I have been viewing the "giants" of information technology my whole life.
This post is going to be lengthy and real. I have always believed in full disclosure and in a day and age with strange bots that IM you when you're just trying a open a damn yahoo e-mail and maybe, just maybe [if you haven't been trapped inside a damn "thunder-dome" (again if you aren't currently seeing dr. evil doing "quotations" and hearing him say "thunder-dome" I really do not understand what you have done with your life) with nice folks in leather who are extremely demanding with their whole party etiquette of Two dude's enter one dude leaves] you heard about all these major sites like the PlayStation network being "hacked" and tons of personal data being stolen, which has you experiencing that "not so fresh feeling" when it comes to all of the bad that comes with the internet.
In a day and age of "copyright wars" (Last weeks sopa, pipa and megaupload news buzz is a clear indication of where we are headed folks) My choice is clear, original content will bring cheer. (Sorry I really like to rhyme, I do it all the time in this mind.)
Original content is the safest way to go, if I have any hope of "making it" I will need excellent content, consider yourselves a test market, lol. Only half kidding.
While I am using this as a gauge and therefore am getting something "valuable to me" from this community I will be giving way more than I take. It is my way.

Ahhh, that's better. My social networking idea could easily be done by Facebook if they knew of the idea. I have decided to protect the "idea", but shop the "ideal". To make up for my secrecy I will being giving many of the good idea's that either myself or my think tank has come up with that isn't my main idea.
Here is an awesome idea for an app, that I just thought of last week. Three words IP themed apps. Transformers was my first example in my head but this idea will work for any IP. Imagine you love transformers like no other, you download this themed app, and suddenly your smartphone is "transformed" into a portal that makes your whole days experience "transformed" from the norm. This app could push itself to the ringer, the txt notifcation, menu navigation sounds, optimus telling you "wake up human" as your alarm clock. Really there are multiple ways in which this could work and should. The reason I don't mind giving this gem of an idea away is two-fold. Furthermore this idea is so good because currently there are really no apps like what I have explained here. I love transformers, but the main point is I don't want to have to download some transformers soundboard that I have to pull up when I want it, I want the transformers experience to come to me with the intelligence that I know a good app can bring me.
1. I don't currently own the IP of Transformers (duh, lol) nor do I own any of the other IP's that would be awesome in this capacity I.E. Harry Potter, Super Troopers, Team America, I won't even get into the game side of it, (which is huge)which on a stat level gamers are more apt to engage in extra activities compared to the movie-only crowd, while this is a simple explanation of different consumer segments, anyone who has done any kind of research understands that a gamer is all about becoming a part of an IP experience, where the "movie only" crowd is less interested in immersion. At minimum I'd love to use this app whether or not I ever profit directly from "this idea". Because I'm not just someone who wants to make a buck, I am a fan first and foremost.
2. I am currently in my first quarter of college for programming, I am a newb when it comes to coding anything more than the simplest html. (I made my border yellow on my first website....lame. lol) My point is that it's going to be a hot minute before I can use this idea in any impressive way, why not give it away and see if someone can do something awesome with it. If this gets traction, then when the video game project that we have in pre-production is ready, I will have an IP to use for this themed app idea, that will be a proven model of how to do it. I believe that good ideas are everywhere, it is our ability to get those ideas to market. I just have too many ideas and I really need to focus my energy.
I absolutely love marketing and always love new ideas and advice. I have zero ego. I'm just tired of being a dreamer with no outlet. I will make this epic social networking site, period. It may take me longer than I want, but perhaps along the way I will meet like minded dreamers that will help bring this to market sooner rather than later.
