Suggestions for a hands-on coach

I understand that Affiliate Marketing takes time and I've read and watched and have tried a coaching program and was extremely disappointed and lost money too.
So my question to you successful people is this: who can you recommend that is a successful coach that will really teach you what the "missing link" in this business is?
I would so appreciate an honest answer
Because I'm new and am afraid to make a mistake on this forum, is it OK to leave my email address?

    Hi Heidi,

It's good that you do desire a coach. I'm a strong believer in being guided by a coach. Even though you did have a bad experience with coaching, don't dismiss it because there are some good coaches out there. You just need to do your research. I've done extensive research on coaching here on the Warrior Forum and I have a few coaches. And there are some very good ones out there if you take your time to find them and talk to them.

What you can do is google Warrior Forum Coaching and go through all the different coaches and get to know them thoroughly first. Different coaches have different strengths. When you talk about affiliate marketing, what area of affiliate marketing are you thinking of?

Make sure you get one with as much personal contact as you can. You may pay a bit more for that, but it's better than just videos if you need the guidance. Also, some coaches have guarantees and those can be good too - they will work with you till you reach a certain amount per month.

Having a coach is really great. You are being guided very well in a step-by-step manner to become successful rather than relying on yourself in doing self-research. It's worth every single penny to have a coach, no matter how much he or she charges.

It's definitely worth having a coach if you can afford it. However, if you are just learning to do affiliate marketing, you may be better off starting with a detailed training program along with email and forum support. Then, when you have a clearer sense of the type of affiliate marketing you want to do, you can find a coach that matches your needs. You may even decide that you want to take a different business direction entirely.

In terms of learning affiliate marketing from scratch, here are the best resources I used:

    - The Super-Affiliate Handbook - by Rosalind Gardner. She also has a monthly paid forum with additional training videos and support.

    - ClickNewz elite membership forum. This is Lynn Terry's mastermind group. She has a load of resources for beginners and her private brainstorming forum is phenomenal about answering questions. She also does a weekly brainstorming hour where you can get site reviews and tips from the whole group.

As for coaching, there are any number of coaches out there. However, you'll have to look VERY closely at what they offer. Look at time limits, extra charges, one-on-one time, email response time, etc.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Also, remember there is a difference between coaching and mentoring.

The reason you probably had a bad experience with coaching is that you probably had what I call a "cattle coach." In other words, someone who has been trained to teach you internet marketing according to a cookie cutter approach. But, not necessarily someone who has had the experience of successful online business. That is a mentor.

It used to be that coaches were mentors, hence my nick name, Coach Kat. But over the years, the term, "coach" has been diluted.

So, really, what you are looking for is a mentor, not a coach. You want someone who has been there...done that, with their own online successes, as well as helped others become extremely successful online, as well. Someone who has had years of experience in being successful in the areas that you want to be successful, too.

Find a mentor, not a coach.

    Hey Oma,

Can I recommend myself I'm not an expert in everything. I've only taken 501 seminars and coaching programs after my graduation from the coaching school, have 450+ documented coaching hours, have 23 clients so far - at least 12 sessions each - many testimonials on my website: www.successmagnifier.com and I can help on many topics: success mindset, marketing strategies, expert positioning, product launches and campaign sequences, sales tactics, etc.

    Thanks,
    Sue

A mentor is a very important person in life of an IMer. There is a lot of damage that can be done if you dont have one.
