Vividly Imagine : What does this mean?

Hi All

With creative visualisation, they always say imagine a scene vividly, or that the mind can not tell what is real or what is Vividly imagined

They never say imagine life like, or as realistically as possible, they always say vividly

Can someone please explain what is vivid? because if i imagine someting like my bedroom as best as i can and my understanding of vivid is to exaggerate the colours and make them brighter well that isnt that non-realistic? lol

thank you

    Hi.

Vivid imagination can imply a few things, but suffice it to mean: desired activity within an imagined scene, 'it's detailed enhancement of color, it's time period, it's conceptual perspective, placement of any population of related lifeforms, as well as any related sound. If you are a person who can generate related emotional feelings at will, that would also apply. - Vivid Imagination -

    Hope this helps - Tom

When they say imagine something vividly it means
as realistic as possible, imagine your self on the beach now see
through you eyes what can you see hear what you can hear
and feel all the feelings you can feel.
It takes a bit of practice you will get it and it is worth it.

I think both Josephs and Toms descriptions are very good.

When you are visualising you will probably have one dominant sense. When you are picturing something see if you see things most clearly as image, or a sound, or a smell or with your sense of touch.

It is a good idea though to try and incorporate all of these elements in your visualisation to give it power.

I was reading an interview on the weekend with Felix Baumgartner who is a sky diver and base jumper, and basically insanely brave, and he said he visualised each of his jumps over a thousand times before he did them. And if it's good enough for Felix it's good enough for me.

I think it means visualizing with all of your senses to make it more vivid or alive.
Use touch, scent, sight, taste if you can and a lot of sounds.

    That's basically it.

as the others are stating: think of all the aspects of it: how it smells, feels, tastes, sounds; who else is there, what the temperature is like, how you feel while experiencing this thing.. do as much as you can to act as though the situation is real in the moment; for instance, what it would be like if you had $40,000 in your pocket right now. How do you feel? what are you going to do with it? how does it smell? are you relieved to have financial freedom? etc.

this kind of thing REALLY works too.. i have had amazing things happen when i do these kinds of visualizations on a regular basis.

Brilliant what amazing things have happened for you? And when you asked "what are you going to do with it?" well for any goal i could come up with a few or many different scenarios, for example losing weight : standing on scales, trying clothes in a shop, being told by people how i look great etc

So when you have more than 1 end result what do you do?

Not all people have sharp visualisation skills, in fact, there's a percentage of people who say they cannot visualize at all. While this is almost impossible, the ability to visualize varies from one individual to another. If you can tell what the colour of your front door is (without looking at it), then you can visualize.

I know how frustrating this can get, because I was one of those people. The good news is that these skills can be trained and improved.

My IM hypnosis program contains all sorts of creative visualization exercises and I always receive e-mails from clients who complain they cannot see the pictures as "vividly" as described to them.

Don't worry, it's okay. Just do your best. Any kind of visual impression - even something fuzzy or just a feeling - will register in your subconscious mind. There's no need to feel frustrated about this.

Just do your best, enjoy the process and you'll be fine. The subconscious is very flexible and fluid.

I think vivid imagination is that you see a very clear picture of your goal in ur mind's screen with all its details of colours n textures, shapes n sizes etc. of people or objects present in the scene.
