FALLING INTO THE VICTIM MINDSET

DON'T BE A VICTIM

Some people are known for the problems they have or misfortunes that have happened to them. I guess the curve balls life throws at us are inevitable. There are things we can't control, and trying to find a reason or someone to blame for our miseries is just a waste of time.

A better approach is to decide not to be a victim.

Unfortunately, most people who suffer a major blow in life default to the why-me/poor-me attitude. They feel entitled to pity and special treatment from everyone around them, because they have been victims of bad things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we shouldn't show compassion or be especially kind to people who suffer. What I'm saying is that if those people use it as a crutch (and it's so easy to), then these nice feelings will become a trap to them.

When you decide you're not going to be a victim, you take your life and destiny into your own hands. You determine to use every resource you can tap into in order to fight back instead of lying back.

God is one of these resources. He said:

I live in the high and holy places, but also with the low-spirited, the spirit-crushed, and what I do is put new spirit in them, get them up and on their feet again. Isaiah 57.15

In case you didn't notice, He was talking about you. He was promising to keep company with people who are broken and badly hit. But not being there to cry with them -- rather, to lift them up and revive them again. That's a promise.

And what you do when you have a promise from God is you call on Him to perform it. Understand that you are especially positioned to receive that promise. Don't waste that right.

Don't be a victim. Use all your resources to fight back. Don't forget God is your biggest resource -- but you have to ask Him to help you, it's not automatic.

The victim mindset is simply the fact that one realizes that he is helpless and credule.
When one realizes that, he'll be free and start to think.

PS: I see that a lot of ppl are believers in this forum.
I may believe that The Creator exist but I wouldn't trust the bible for everything. I would go into philosophy.

Every time one blames circumstances or anything outside themselves as the cause of their pain, they are definitely victims. Victims of circumstances. A success mindset does not blame external environments but takes 100% responsibility of who they are and what they are experiencing.

Yes I agree about taking responsibility for things.

It may not be your fault that something happened...but you are responsible for what you do about it

By taking responsibility for getting yourself out of the situation you are in, you instantly become more powerful in life. You start considering options that a victim cannot even think of.

The world does not owe you anything. If you want something, you must go create it.

I have 2 comments for your post.

The first is that one of my favorite sayings is, Just don't stand there, Pray something!

The other is that we all experience unfortunate situations in our lives. We have the power within us to allow those circumstances to either make us bitter or better depending on how we respond to them. It is the "I" that makes the difference.
