Top 10 Reasons People Fail?

Can anyone list a few for me? I'm writing about this in an eBook on my niche, but I think failure is global and can be converted from IM to whatever.

    - Lack of motivation
    - Lack of proper knowledge
    - Lack of genuine, consistent effort/work
    - Giving up after the first (inevitable) failure
    - Shotgun approach (e.g. trying to do several things at once without investing enough time with each approach to get any decent results)

    Fear of failure is a big one. It crippled me for a while without even presenting its self as a conscious problem. I wouldn't act (lack of actual work) because I was scared it had to be perfect, or else it would get rejected. Its absurd looking back on it but I can assure you it effects a large amount of people even without their knowledge.

    Because every body thinks the same thing. Like when theres a Hot Chick, out of the 100 guys thinking "I'd never get her" only 1 has the confidence yet the 99% would look better than that 1 person its all about risking rejection. You can relate this to SEO.

    My idea is :-

    1) Lack Of Knowledge - don't have any initiative to get knowledge. Think they know everything.

    2) Knowledge Overload - too many knowledge, so didn't focus with the main knowledge to make money.

    I think the biggest factor is giving up after not seeing immediate results. If you want serious income in any kind of business you've got to stick with it through thick and thin. Everyone wants to put 4 hours of work into a project and give up after it yields nothing. It's only setting yourself up for failure when you do that.

    With regards to any business or IM there will be 3 - 7 skills ...

    In IM my pick would be
    1) List Building
    2) Web site creation / Word press
    3) Product creation
    4) Affiliate Marketing
    5) Membership sites
    6) Traffic
    7) Sales funnels / upsells etc

    not in that particlular order of importnace as these are the foundational pillars ..

    People look to make $$ before setting their foundations rights and hence there is a Lack Of Patience to see results in one method and jump to the next before really mastering the key skills..

    If you pick start mastering tese skills then can use any of the latest and greatest software , plugin , FB marketing to make $$$.... the problem is when some one does not spend time to ste the foundations right is what leads to lots of confusions and bad results...

    1. They give up.
    2. They stop trying.
    3. They have the wrong strategy.
    4. They do not change their strategy when appropriate.
    5. They listen to bad advice.
    6. They do not seek the right advice.
    7. They are dishonest in their endeavors.
    8. They break the law in their in their endeavors.
    9. They are unethical in their endeavors.
    10. They do not care if they succeed.

    Here are the top 10 reasons I have found why people fail.


    10) They don’t spend enough time around positive people who will help them succeed.

    9) They refuse to invest in continuing education.

    8 ) They don’t treat their home based business as a real business.

    7) They don’t invest the necessary time and money to make the business work.

    6) They don’t practice Attraction Marketing principles.

    5) They don’t develop and stick to a good marketing plan.

    4) They don’t test different marketing strategies.

    3) They don’t follow up with their leads and prospects.

    2) They don’t keep the end in mind.

    1) They quit.

    1)Not knowing what they are trying to sell.
    2)Getting distracted
    3)Lack of focus
    4)Lack of understanding marketing
    5)Fear of taking action
    6)Not having a strong support system
    7)Lack of being able to evaluate where stage of business they are in.

      It's coming along nicely. Just under 8.5 thousand words and 26 pages. I've only covered 11 of the 63 topics, so I've got a fair way to go yet. Been working on it for the past 4 hours.

    1. WRONG PRIORITIES
    2. Week Foresightedness
    3. POOR MANAGEMENT/ Execution
    4. NO BACK UP PLAN
    5. GIVING UP

    Sounds like your book is coming along quite well. I really appreciate this discussion thread. One key to making progress is understanding what is holding us back and our fellow WF members are giving us some great insight into areas to keep an eye on.

    A few have mentioned "lack of confidence" as being one of the reasons people fail. I would emphasize this point.

    I think that a lack of confidence, or low self-confidence or self-esteem is a major obstacle. I am sure that tips and insight on dealing with this will be appreciated by your eventual readers.

    Brian Tracy suggests that before going into a situation, you visualize yourself functioning at your best in that kind of situation. Recall past experiences in that situation where you have performed well or have been successful.

    1. low investment,
    2. unplanned approach,
    3. lack of planning big.
    4. lack of good tech support.
    5. accepting a hatchback when u told the tech specifically for a ferrari [ wrt your website]
    6. making do and trying to do business with a hatchback, coz u think ur stuck with it!
    7. waisting too much money repairing the hatchback, rather than hiring another firm / programmer to build u a ferrari

    I think there are some factors which cause failure. These factors according to my thoughts are as follows:
    lack of decision making skill
    lack of sharing
    lack of patience
    no self confidence
    working irregular
    no proper guidelines etc.

    How about simply "being unqualified"?

    No one ever says that, but it's probably the #1 reason.

    When I was 20 I thought I knew how to run a business. It wasn't until I was 30 that I truly understood how little I knew back then. At 34, I'm still learning.

    My contribution:

    Don't know the real "why". What will their success really get them… not just money… what does money bring… power, pride, security, fame. It's different for everyone.


    Not keeping the "why" in front of them. This is the motivation.


    Not learning from someone who is successful at what they are teaching.
