Well, ok. In my opinion you read any book and you'll be forever changed, if for no other reason than not being able to ever return back to the state of having less knowledge or information than you now have after reading the book.

So, in what way do you think the book, "Think and Grow Rich" will change someone forever?

Personally, I've read the book and have been able to put to work some of the keys Napoleon Hill wrote about. His research and writing are very well done and he certainly makes some strong cases for doing things differently.

    I think it's worth reading.

You can get the unabridged version of Think and Grow Rich from Melvin Powers Wilshire Book Company.
According to Jerry Hicks, ABRAHAM says the book instills belief, and that is primarily the basis for success.
Additionally, if you understand vibration, and can raise yours, or hold it in a positive place, the inspiration you receive is from...other great minds and your total self/spirit.
I have missed this forum, suffered 2 weeks while my system was being repaired.

I love the latest Abraham Hicks book Money and the Law of Attraction....and really enjoyed Rich Dad Poor Dad also.

Dear all my like-minded friends in this wonderful Forum, how are we all?

Mx99wx99, thanks for starting this Topic here and thanks everyone for sharing their views here

My little successful story start from Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad is the earliest book that change my life forever!

It is a very powerful life change for me...

I came across Rich Dad, Poor Dad book in my teenager life., so I uses Robet Kiyosaki idea to start my first business.

I am from Malaysia, was born in a pensioner family with poor mindset parents. For them, everything is impossible and they are very negative people. My parents work extremely hard, but broke, the more they work hard, the poorer they become.

I was so blessed that I manage to read Robert Kiyosaki book, I studied so hard in school and finally get a scholarship to study in Australia. But, as I mentioned before, I am from very poor family, my parents can't afford to pay my flight and living cost to study overseas, it is very very expensive to live in Australia ...

Because I was influenced so greatly by Robert's idea, I found out all sort of ways to raise capital to buy flight ticket to study overseas, lol....

I manage to earn the amount of money that general Malaysian earn (3 months) in just 2 weeks, at that time, I was just a high school student, so I am so proud of myself!!!

So, this is my starting journey

I also used Napolien Hill Think and Grow Rich, Chris Howard NLP technique, Anthony Robbins as well as Donald Trump teaching when I started my 6-Figure Income Internet Based Business, guess what happens?
It is just amazing, I make my very first sales within 24 hours of starting my Business. I just love my life so so so much ...

Here, I give all my honour to these people who have make a huge impact in my life

Yes, this is my Success Stories, how about you all? Mind to share and let's encourage each other, support each other in this wonderful Journey towards Prosperity!!!

        Have a marvellous day!

        To Your Success,
        Grace Jen

    Hey Mate,

I love Think and Grow Rich.

I have seen one problem with it over the years.

People can't help but read it through their "filters".

So... how can you bypass that?

I have listened to hours of Napoleon Hill, and have noticed that the people who get the most out of Think and Grow Rich tend to run their brains in a similar way to how he runs his.

    (It's a NLP thing.)

So to those who didn't get anything out of the book, get some recordings of Napoleon Hill himself. "Catch his wave - so to speak".

That seems to help many folks.

Have a great day, and no mattter who you are, where you are...

Form a Mastermind! Learning about Masterminds is one of the most powerful concepts in that book.

"The Secret" is a poor man's "T&GR" Or should I say, a more expensive & watered down version.

T&GR is the one you want to read, it shows you how to attract the things you want along with practical and powerful steps you can take to get to where you want to be. It's a life plan, one which you should follow.

"the secret" merely talks about "WISHING" for shit... you might as well pray, same thing.

    My 2 cents.

Science of Being:27 Lessons by Eugene Fersen. This was the home study course to his original book Science of Being.

Fersen's work gave a whole new meaning to the Law of Attraction and explained the other Universal Laws. I was so blown away by the information I made the books available in pdf format...my first step with internet marketing. I had no clue what I was doing.

You can find the link to the books at the bottom of the page if you want to know more.

I was so shocked people hadn't heard of the books(I got lucky and stumbled upon them). It was like a mission for me to get these out. Now you can find them on line and there are sites dedicated to this great man.

      Guess I did my part!

This body of work changed my life and I am not a member of the "official"
Fersen-founded organization. I just want people who are struggling with metaphysical principles, LOA, etc, to read something that is comprehensive and works.

      'nough said.

Excellent place for my first post. Think and Grow Rich is a standard, I have been advised to read the follow up by Napoleon Hill "The Law of Success in 16 lessons". I have read Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki 3 or 4 times(reading it again this week). I also suggest "The Greatest Salesman In the World" by Og Mandino. And anything by Zig Ziglar. I have been reading these books for years and am now ready to apply their lessons, hence my recent membership to this forum.

Yes it was a great book. Just remember we can read books and get an injection of inspirational boost, but we have to consciously practice the principles they lay out. Just knowing them is good philosophy, but practicing them is where the real changes begin to take place in your life.

Really amazing stuff to be awakened too.

    Stay on your path.

That book, as well as many others have changed my life as well. I try to read as often as possible, but sometimes just don't make the time like I should.

A small list of those that have really impacted me include:
    - Think And Grow Rich
    - The Secret (even though it is a movie and not a book)
    - The Celastine Prophecy
    - The Peaceful Warrior
    - The Rich Dad Poor Dad books

I have access to it, but I haven't read a whole lot out of the book. But I know what it is founded on, and that is the Law of Attraction which I've studied immensely. I can already see that a lot of people here know about "LoA," and even this sub-forum name "Mind warriors" is vaguely referring to the idea of it.

There is actually a ton of Law of Attraction material available on the web (Duh.. Everything's on the internet, lol)

There is even some "unlikely" sources of information out there that tell you exactly how and why it works, but most of you wouldn't even believe me if I told you. You'd probably laugh and call me crazy for even mentioning it, lol.

Ok, I'm done with my creepy rant, haha.

Anyway, it's a good book. Some people swear by it, others swear it off. It all literally has to do with your way of thinking, which is what the book is technically a case study about.

If you think it doesn't work, then it won't. If you believe the material in the book works for you, then it will. Think of it as the "placebo effect," but note that it goes both ways either positively or negatively.

I don't think there is a master narrative that told me how and why to live. However, books seem to help me on my way wherever I go.

For instance, Rebbeca by Daphne DuMaurier made me love the classics. Sula by Toni Morrison made me appreciate my mother. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen made me understand my father. A love for the Harry Potter series gave me something in common with my sister.

However, if you want a book that will change your life without any outside factors, The Holy QURAN is a good one. If you read This, I think It's bound to change your life.

Read it again, but this time, don't let you belief system "edit" away (reject) the essence of the messages. Then try apply some of the things it suggests.

If still no results, bad luck, must be the book is written for "Mac" wired brains and yours is a "PC" wired brain (as an analogy I know, this one sucks), these things just happen.

Think and Grow Rich is a great book and The Secret is a great movie, but honestly they only tell half the story. I've been practicing the law of attraction principles, which Think and Grow Rich is based on, for over 5 years now. Thinking about and visualizing getting what you want is only part of it.

There are some other more advanced techniques that you'll have to implement to make it easier for you to attract that which you want. Most people want to accomplish a certain goal but really don't believe they can. So desiring something doesn't mean you'll get it, you'll also have to believe that it is possible. There are some techniques you can use to remove those limiting beliefs, thoughts of lack and limitation (which always get in the way of manifesting your desires), and negative emotions (which will repel any good that you want to attract).

This is a way of life, something that you do on a consistent basis. You can try some other techniques:

    1. Creative Flowdreaming by Summer McStravick (Great for visualization, vibrational alignment, manifesting - I manifested 3 new clients and over $1700 in less than a week after doing this exercise for 3 days)
    2. EFT (helps remove blocks and limitations)
    3. Creating Money by Sanaya and Duane
    4. Open Yourself to Prosperity by Catherine Ponder (more Christian based)
    5. Any kind of forgiveness exercises to release negative emotions and open yourself up to receive

I'd start with those and then to more advanced techniques.

I also forgot to mention 2 other books that I love:

The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale
The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen

They're both excellent! If you haven't read The One Minute Millionaire, it's in a very different format - the even numbered pages are in one format (like a fiction story), and the odd numbered pages are nonfiction. (I don't remember if this is correct, but you get the idea.)

"Think and grow Rich" talks about the Law of Attraction but he talks about the fact that you have to do. He talks about organized planning, decision and persistence in certain chapters of the book. For me I got that success only comes from me applying consistent and persistence action everyday.

I got "Think and Grow Rich", and "The Science of Getting Rich" free online. Try to get the original 1937 version of Think and Grow Rich, before they changed some of the text.

Another one I really enjoyed was Bob Proctor - You Were Born Rich. Also free online.

I loved Esther and Jerry Hicks book Money and the Law of Attraction.

If you watch The Secret, try to watch the original version with Esther Hicks in it. It was the best version. It is free online.

Reading these types of books help to keep you motivated and expand your mind to believe and think in the ways of very successful people.
I know they have helped me alot in these past years. I did not learn success thinking growing up. I've taught myself by reading lots of books. I wanted to know how rich successful people thought. Now I know thanks to alot of these books.

Yes, Think and Grow Rich is terrific, but there are others I like just as much:

Magic of Believing (one of my favorites) - Claude Bristol
TNT The Power Within You - Claude Bristol
The Magic of Thinking Big - David Schwartz
The Magic of Getting What You Want - David Schwartz

But the one that has really made the biggest difference in my life is The Secret. It just put everything together.

In theory any book can change your life.

Knowledge has no power in the world - quite opposite to knowledge is power!

Now why do i say this?

We all know junk food is bad for you yet millions eat fast food. We know money does not grow on trees yet billions are in debt borrowing off credit cards....etc etc

Well all the knowledge in the world is useless unless you apply it.

The real power is when you execute the knowledge - take action with the knowledge and you will have all the power in the world and the results to prove it.

ps my favorite subject at the moment is Holodynamics - very out of this world type subject.

    Hello all!

Just wanted to say that another book that would help compliment Think and Grow Rich is The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.

I believe Jerry Hicks mentions those two books were somewhat his introductions into the Law of Attraction.

Although Think and Grow Rich is a great book, there are many more that you need to have to find true success.

    First and foremost, the Bible.

Wallace Wattles The Science of Getting Rich, James Allen's As A Man Thinketh, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged also top that list.

And, then there are the books by Norman Vincent Peale, as well as Dale Carnegie, and let's not forget Orison Swett Marden.

In short, if you are not reading great books, you are not continuing to stretch your mind, which can then never return to its original shape.

    Make it a great day!

I first read 'Think and Grow Rich' over 20 years ago and thought it was OK but couldn't really see why it was rated so high. I read it again about 5 years later and thought it was good but not great.
But in the last few years, I've realised from the experience that comes with age, that you don't need to read the book itself, only the title.
The 'secret' that Napoleon Hill was supposed to have hidden in the book is actually the title itself, in my opinion.
ALL riches come from the MIND.
Therefore to grow rich you need to use your mind effectively. The quality of your decisions is paramount.
To achieve success in any field everyone has to use their mind effectively - even top sportsmen, musicians, artists etc where their physical talent seems to be the key to their success.
I've read many self improvement books over the years and I've learnt something from each one, but I think you've got to piece together what's right for you, not expect a book to tell you how to run your life.

I have read this thread and you are the first person to make referance to the secret to be ncovered and when you did that, you had to upturn a glass on the table

You are close with your answer but not complete, but gagin the answer to the hidden secret can vary.

Before i give my version of the amswer, to all of those who have read it , interested in what your version of the answer to the secret is ?

I just happen to have a .pdf copy here if you want it. Just save it.

    Think and Grow Rich

But I have to tell you, a recent one that I have found awesome is The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. He is the guy who writes all the "Chicken Soup" books, and was also in the movie The Secret.

His writing style is easy to read and really makes things easy to understand. I picked it up a few weeks ago and now it stays on my desk for me to pull nuggets of wisdom when I need a pick-me-up.

The reason I bought it was because I was looking on how to actually "DO" the Law Of Attraction (if there is such a thing...lol).

I needed a guide to help me get through understanding more in depth and give me tools to learn it. This one helped a lot.

I am not affiliated in any way, but here is the link to his site about the book.

It is a surprise to hear that some people are just hearing about Think and Grow Rich, an awesome book that has been around for a pretty long time.

There is hardly any successful person that hasn't read Napoleon Hill's classic. It changed my life years ago and I always recommend it to anyone that comes my way.

Rich Dad, Poor dad is another GREAT book to read
