I can be a lazy bum and filthy rich
But here’s the thing : he’s so excitedly explaining the big money, sport car, cruise, and plane; like if we joined it, we’ll actually have them like flipping the back of hand . So I interrupted his 25-minute trance with serious question : “dude, what work are we actually gonna do after we joining? Sure we have to do some real work, huh? Please stop talking about the airplane crap and tell me what work to do"
He shrugged for a while listening the word “WORK”. “Errr….ahh….well, ye know, you’re actually have to sell something”.
I insisted – “yeah, what to sell?”. And finally, after 25 minutes promising a wonderland, he explained about the products to sell, certain downlines, and certain points to reach out.
“This is an easy work, my friend, it won’t disturb your school!”
(He even showed me an audio from his rich top uplines how they're bragging they never even finish elementary school, but now are making millions with MLM )
We met several times where he still trying hard convincing me to join. But I still remember one moment when he said, “this is easy money. You know what, by the time I graduated from here, I can be a lazy bum and filthy rich”.
The last thing I knew was, he’s never graduated. His grades went downhill to D’s and E’s, and he’s dropped out of college (despite he’s saying hard ‘it won’t disturb your school!’). I never met him since.
Is he succeed or rich now?
Recently, only last week, while dating with my BF in a cafe, I met my undergraduate friend -- yeah, a coincident. He was the best friend of the MLM guy, and so I asked him how is he doing now.
"He's been quitting the MLM last year, moved to another city and get another job. You should've seen how's his face the last time we met. He's so desperate and lost heaps of weight"
****So, what does it do with internet marketing? A lot.
A lot of people jumped into internet marketing from the lure of easy money, mansions, sport car, yacht, lifestyle – you name it – without hard work. And guess what? They’re chasing the next “systems” after next big thing like a headless chicken, draining their money, then complaining that the whole thing is scam.
Why? Because they’re after the “easy money” first, not the business.
I won't lie that money is a powerful motivator. But the one thing I’ve learned from my past mistake is – building a business is like building your own house. You can’t just throw the woods and bricks expecting a magic force will create your house. Hate it or not, you have to WORK it from zero.
They think internet marketing enables them to be lazy and filthy rich. Fact is, you can have one of them…but NOT both.
Build the business first, and money will follow.
=== end of my rant today.
P.S. I have nothing against MLM, ph4rmacy, or college drop-outs....because the moral of the story is about having the business mindset.
