Take regular breaks. If you have trouble remembering to take regular breaks, then set yourself a daily schedule with timed breaks; post it at your computer and obey it!

You need a break so you don't become weary, numb and inefficient.

I like the daily todo schedule. Make a plan, include breaks, and stick to it.

Don't forget to include off days and vacations too!!! There is a reason we don't work seven days a week. The brain needs an escape.

Consider meditation, walks with focus---where you think hard about an internet problem, then relax and go for a walk; oftentimes your subconscious will take over and solve your problem. One can do IM away from the computer using these methods. Technically it is not online work, but it strengthens your online efforts.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

I like kaniganj's "advice." The thing is, it is never healthy to just stay in one position or do routine stuff, every single day. For me, when it gets too stressful and my eyes and hands are too exhausted from staring or typing at the computer for hours, I just stop whatever I'm doing and and close my eyes for five minutes. Do not think of anything, just close your eyes and stay calm. Then it also helps if you stand and stretch your arms and flex your legs, to bring back blood circulation.

That is true. Specially for must of us who enjoy everything about the internet and how it works. To relieve the stress, I usually take an hour of break for every 3-4 hour stretch in front of my laptop. I take this time to have a drink, talk with someone over the phone or in person, play an instrument or take a nap.

I try to stay away from my PC for that hour and focus on my personal responsibilities as it keeps me refreshed every time I get back in front of my Computer.
