After reflecting over my numerous attempts to be successful on the internet over the last few years, it's not difficult for me to see why I wasn't successful. Here is an honest self-assessment- I was lazy, inconsistent, and my goals were more like wishlists more than anything thing else because there was no action to back them up.

A couple of weeks ago, I started writing a book, and before I decided to take a one week break from the internet, finished just a tad over 4,000 words. This is actually the second time I'm working on a product-I never finished the first one, but the situation in my life has really come to a point that I really feel I don't have a choice but to follow through this time

That is why I've decided that I am going to try something new. Starting from today(technically tomorrow), I will be making public how much progress I've made on my book. My goal is to finish by April 14(I said 15 days, but I have to take into account that I will have other obligations a couple of weekends).

I'm estimating that my ebook will be between 40-45k words, and I've already finished 4k words, so if all goes according to plan I should be done by April 14.

I will be making an update on this thread daily so that my progress is clearly visible to the public.

All feedback will be appreciated

good luck on your quest. different peiople get motivated to work by trying different things. If this is your chosen style and will lead you to success, then by all means do it.

    To your success!

You're an inspiration! That's quite a goal, and I wish you luck in meeting it. I have been thinking about writing a book myself, but I don't really know if I have the determination it takes to get it done. I want to publish hard copy though, not an ebook. Do you know anything about the supposed profit margins from ebooks vs. hardcopy books?

Depends, what specifically do you want to write about? Margins are far higher for ebooks, but it depends on your marketing strategy.

If you want better results, focus on the writing process and not the end result.

Nobody likes chores, so if you make it one you might not finish.

Sometimes when your back is against the wall. like they say - is the best time to get things done.

I was in your shoes for a long time. Until, one day I had no choice but make money. I had debts and they got bigger and bigger.

Solution is just like you stated. Get things done. Take massive action. Do not try to be a perfectionist. Better you have your ebook out there getting viewed than waiting to be perfected.

just my thoughts, all the best of luck. Let us know how you do.

just to give you a helping hand....If your book is on Internet Marketing, you can write a guest post on my blog and link it back to your landing page. My blogs are on my signature.

How are you coming along? Is this an e-book you'll break up into a series, or sell, or is it just for personal gain ( a memoir, etc). It's a good thing that u are putting it here, as it shows accountability practices. Keep up the good work!
