Two fears that prevent you from achieving your goals...

Most people are quite unaware of the two dominant fears that
prevent them from achieving their goals.

The fear of never achieving it and the the fear of actually
achieving it.

Be mindful of the two sides to your dreams as they can create
unhappiness whether or not you achieve your objective.

If you you're struggling with any issue or goal take time to
reflect on the hidden fears on both sides and work to eliminate
them.

Just my 2 cents.

-we feel that we cannot achieve because we see our past record and our mind cannot validate the result that we want especially for newbies who don't make 1st dollar yet.

-we Feel mystery when we think about how will i be and how can people see what i do, and what about the future.

This is actually a pretty common topic on this forum. It's common for a REASON. Fear does more than make your heart race and palms sweat. It can stop you dead in your tracks. I have a pretty good article about this called MY NAME IS FEAR

The goal is to keep moving on, for only through time and practice does fear recede and allow you to move forward.

In all honesty, I've lost my fear of *not* achieving it, but I do have the underlying fear of actually achieving it since I haven't actually reached that point yet, so the anticipation of the success changing my life is a bit scary.

But, I'm incredibly excited for when that day comes, so I will eventually lose that fear of success.

Also included in that equation is one of the biggest fears of all. The fear of dreaming at all. Which probably covers most people on the planet.

Especially those who spend the good part of their day just thinking about surviving. Things most of us take for granted like finding food, dodging bullets, totalitarian governments and worse. Dreaming to them is a luxury.

Even in America, most people live their dreams through the "Tell-Lie-Vision"!

I was asked that question a few times by different coaches I was speaking to. They all asked "are you afraid of failure or of actually achieving your goals?"

Sometimes this fear of success can actually hold up back - whether we believe it or not I think it's important to take control of it and embrace it as a challenge.

By confronting your fear and working out why you have that fear, you'll learn to conquor it. You prboably need to think back to past experiences though. Why do you have a fear of achieving. Is it because someone has told you that you won't ever succeed, or are you worried about what others will think.

Belief in your goal/desire/dream will focus the mind. Don't let others run your life for you.

    1. Fear of Success
    – This is actually a fear of achieving your dreams and standing out. Fear of the attention you will receive should you actually realize success. Yes, people might look at you, and talk about you, which can make you feel self-conscious.

    2. Fear of Leading – With leadership comes responsibility, and many are afraid of being responsible for an outcome that impacts not only themselves, but also the people they are guiding. Many with this fear worry and wonder, “What if I lead them the wrong way?”

You are absolutely right. Either outcome will produce change of some sort. I boils down to weighing the pros/cons of each outcome. Change is inevitable, but shouldn't be feared. It is really fear of the unknown.

Well said. I have a quote by Alex Goad pinned up over my desk.

So true...it's like we are sub-consciously forced to act. Whenever someone puts pressure on me to do something it always takes priority over work tasks I give myself that don't need to be done immediately. (Note to self: apply more self-pressure!)

Both these fears have plagued me for many years. I was afraid of success because I did not want to stand out and be recognized. I was afraid of people's reaction to my success.

I was also afraid that I might fail at achieving my goals.

Now I'm learning not to care about other people's negative perceptions of me or my own.

I am learning to just "DO IT". I am learning to turn off the negative tapes (self-sabotage/the sound of naysayers), get excited about how close I am to my dreams, and make it happen.

I can smell the leather in my new Maserati. I can hear the powerful roar of the engine. I can hear the gentle 'beep' of the control panel as I select my destination on the GPS navigation screen. I hear the electronic hum of the convertible top retracting and smell the warm, sun-kissed breeze on my face as I shift into reverse out of the driveway. I can hear the crackle of the pavement beneath the tires.

It's that real to me...and that's all I want to think about.

The fear of actually achieving it was certainly the hardest for me to overcome, that's for sure.

I was quick to overcome the fear of never achieving, took me almost 2 years to actually do it.

    Just, don't stop believing

These two fears...."The fear of never achieving it and the the fear of actually
achieving it." are two different concepts but can be prevented by one or the same solution which is having courage and being optimistic about facing one's fears or goals.

Definitely the fear of failure without a doubt, or at least for me. But come to think of it, even losing all the money that I have now wouldn't actually have much impact on me
