Stream of Consciousness - Seeing the Woods...

There is a very familiar saying that goes something like...
'You Can't See the Wood for the Trees'
And this is very much a valid statement within Internet Marketing.
I have just come off a conference call where this was highlighted most clearly.
As we spoke with someone about their upcoming launch,
So many glaringly obvious aspects had not been considered because they had been too involved or 'in too deep'.
This is no fault of the developer of course as it is a rare skill when people can step outside of their own environment and see things more objectively.
It is however much easier for an outsider to see these omissions as they are not so involved of course.
This brings two thoughts to mind as a form of solution.
The first would be network more effectively during a pre-launch and maybe utilise the skills of people in groups such as this to observe and pass comment.
The other is to find and trust in a mentor or partner that can help you see these omissions and be someone you trust enough in to respond to their advice.
Over the past few weeks, I have offered a lot of direct advice to fellow 'Skype Groupies' and some will listen whilst others will not.
This again is a consequence of being in too deep.
Because you have total familiarity with your own work you feel that you are entirely right and not open to external influences.
I guess my point for today is to seek and heed advice of others you trust and respect,
Be willing to consider that advice without rebuttal and don't be offended by their good intentions.
Remember, the life of your WSO is maybe around 10 days, the duration of your friendships is somewhat longer.
