Selling Yourself
We need to sell our ideas to someone else in
order to influence their decisions.
A child must sell an idea to their parents to get
a new toy or new sports kit,
A husband will sell the benefits of a new car and
a wife might sell the benefits of a family
holiday.
We all manage to sell our ideas to others when we
feel the need or a strong enough motivation,
Yet when it comes to selling our own products,
some people are unable to expend the same ability
to sell.
People will say they are not a sales person, they
will say they don't have the confidence or they
will say they simply don't like to sell but the
truth remains they are in sales, no matter what.
Looking at it in a slightly different light,
Sales people are influencers and buyers are the
influenced, so now, are you happy to be the
influenced or would you rather be an influencer?
I feel that I did make the transition a few
months back and the shift in mindset was
remarkable.
Not only did my sales grow, but I also found that
I wasn't tempted by every new and shiny object
anymore. You see, as your skill as an influencer
grows, your perchance to be influenced also
diminishes.
I accept that a shift in mindset isn't easy and
there are certain factors that will help make that
transition but this rant isn't the place to
discuss that.
Suffice to say, if you want to see your sales and
success grow, you need to be sure of your status
as a Sales Person and as an Influencer and the
rest is plain sailing: D
