Hi fellow Warriors,

Many of you here are successful Internet marketeers or you might just be learning and starting down the path of Internet marketing
Share your experience when you made your first sales/earnings online.

I hope this can be very motivational for everyone, especially those who've had poor luck in your Internet Marketing lately.
Remember: Perseverance is key!
As for those who are doing well, why not share too and reflect on how far you've come, all your hardships and perseverance that made you what you are today

Personally, I made my first sale on ClickBank, $16.08. I logged into ClickBank and for the first time, I saw a colored bar and numbers more than 0.00
It wasn't much, and it wasn't even profit, but I was over the moon! I had made my first baby step.. and I knew that things were looking up and things were going to get better

Please share your experiences below

My first bit of cash was from a CPA e-mail submit offer using Facebook for the traffic. As with your's it wasn't profit, in fact the campaign never made any money in the end, but it still felt amazing to make that first $1.60. :p

Well, congrats on your first sale. I'm pretty sure you're that happy as I remembered my first sale for my own product which is a $147 per copy and it was 2005. Although I have several sales, my sales on my product is really the one I really like. Since then, I start to plan and in 2006, I made myself full-time internet marketer.

Getting to make the first dollar online is a pain for most and that's where the first dollar earned gets exciting. It definitely needs a lot of perseverance and commitment to action to reach success. People who start out in Internet Marketing fall in to tricks like magic push button software and waste their time only to get zero results. They are the ones who are not willing to put their efforts and expect results which is why they go after some crappy push button softwares.

Actually, a magic push button to riches never exists. Intentional & Laser Focussed ACTIoN is the only magic push button I can think of.

Okay, and coming to my success story, I had built my first Amazon site reviewing Camcorders and that is a failure. Then I started building review sites for product launches where I had my success and made my first money online and thats a great feeling to see my Clicksure account showing 2 sales of a little more than $90! I should also mention I had my first sale done only purely because of my rational ACTION starting from choosing the right product, setting up the site, doing SEO and getting it done finally!

My learning that I can share to the group is that "Please warriors take ACTION. Don't keep on looking for the next shiny object or buy WSO after WSO and just stay! All the products you buy may be good. But that will not give you results without ACTION. So, ACTION ACTION ACTION... that is the only magic push button to riches!

Created my own information product without any knowledge that there was such a thing called Internet Marketing. Joined a forum and sold it there for $7 a piece. Will never forget how that felt..

Do you guys still remember that awesome feeling? Getting sales now is quite different but still fun!

I made my first sale on clickbank, it was about 3 years ago and I haven't looked back since. After a lot of trial and error I nailed it!

Here are the 3 steps I took to get that first sale

    1. Forum marketing:

There are thousands of forums online. All you have to do is go to Google.com and type in the subject of your market and forum. For example, if you are promoting golf products then type in golf + forum in the search box.

Now, make sure that the forum allows you to have a signature. What you will do is edit your signature and place a link to your affiliate product in the signature. Now, when you make posts your affiliate link will be in your signature and interested people will click it.

Of course you have to be an active part of the forum community.

    2. I recommend products with almost every blog post:

People read my blog posts and they find a link to the product. Probably if they like the post they will want to learn more about it, so they will maybe click the link and maybe buy the product.

    3. I make connections with publishers/writers:

I email book writers with this subject: "Partnership proposal about your xxxx book". I tell them that I will feature their book in the next article. When the post gets published, they promote it, which not only generates traffic for me, it gives me commission from the sale.

My first sale actually came from an offline client that needed help with online marketing. I charged them $600 but even that was undervaluing the service they received but at that point in time I just wanted to make my first sale and finally say, "yay! I'm actually in business!"--such a great feeling!

My first sale was for $1,500 (gross) $750 (net). This was back in August 2006. I used Adwords back then. This was from marketing a top tier direct selling company that still deals in financial education products.

Keep the inspiring and motivational stories coming!

I had no subscriptions for about 4 days, selling other people's products using their methods.

At first, I feared that there was something wrong with me.
But that didn't turn out to be the case.
First subscription came in shortly after all my hard work.

So the lesson is, Persevere on! You never know when you will hit the gold 2 feet away from you

Ahhh I always feel little embarrassment whenever I tell about my first sale. I started my career by becoming the Affiliate Marketer at an Adult network that is AFF. There I made the first sale of 14$. I always feel ashamed, so I rarely share this with someone :-(

The first time I generate income online was way back in 2002. Ebay was still kind of in its infancy. My dad had a boat he wanted to sell. I told him I will sell it for you. I took tons of pictures and wrote a description that would see a ketchup bottle to a woman wearing white gloves. To make a long story short I ended up selling the boat for him for $4700.00 which was pure profit for him at the time. I made a nice little $500.00 profit. Ever since then I have been chasing the dream.

      Nice inspirational thread here!

My first sale is nothing to boast about especially with the kind of numbers presented here, but nevertheless I can relate to the excitement it brings in. Mine was $0.60 (Yes, you read that right...) from an adsense click. Since then I have managed to come a long way but earning whatever I earn now from my online ventures can never replace the excitement I had with that very first $0.60.

      Cheers

My very first sale was a .info domain for 60 dollars. I was super excited and when I sold my second one for 40 dollars, I was over the moon. I haven't been successful with domain selling after that but it was a great learning experience. I'll never forget it.

      That is awesome. ^^

The amazing part is that you made it in 2006. The time when internet was still a new thing.

        thanks...yes...I've been a full-timer since 2008.

Internet marketing was not new in 2006, some of the folks here have been killing it forever

But I don't see decrease in sales in any way shape or form, internet is still making me money and it's the only thing I know how to make money. Just stay away from internet marketing niche if you're a newbie, that's all

If you had offline business, that's even better. Get online and get more sales. It's that easy.

My first noticeable sale (I'd had a little amazon affiliate/ adsense money) was for a clickbank product for a little over a hundred dollars. I was pretty happy but I also realised I hadn't really put a system in place for reproducing that sale, and had more or less lucked into it. But it was good from the perspective that it gave be verifable proof that people will pay for information products.
