Oprah's Lifeclass Series

So I had the AMAZING opportunity to see Oprah, Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Iyanla Vanzant and Bishop TD Jakes for a live taping in Toronto of the Lifeclass (ahhh! I still get chills thinking about it!).

Being in a room with 8500 other energized people--amazing! Being a feet away from Oprah as she walked through the crowd to thank everybody--amazing! The lesson about gratitude (airing on April 30 I believe)--amazing!

Many of Oprah's Lifeclass themes (gratitude, fear, living on purpose, etc.) are so applicable to the discussions on mindset. You can watch all previous shows on her website Oprah's Lifeclass - OWN TV

So it got me to thinking, and I know this was posted sometime earlier in the forum but this theme kept coming up again, and again, and again during Lifeclass--taking the time to be still, give thanks and recognize what/who you are grateful for in the present moment.

Oprah recommended committing to making a daily list of 5 things you are grateful for each and every single day. Not just thinking about 5 things but actually writing them down and even verbalizing them if that helps.

This daily exercise forces your mind to go through your day and look for positives (even it's as small as enjoying a good cup of coffee) and all the good things/people that surround us.

So my question to Warriors, what are you grateful for today?

Those are good points. I remember on one of her show episodes she mentioned making a "Count Your Blessings List". In fact, she mentioned one of her secrets to success was writing what she was thankful for in a Journal each day and reading it out loud.

I thought it strange at the time, but if it was good enough for a Billionaire it's good enough for me, so I tried it.

Many positives continue coming from doing it. But the biggest change is it forced me to notice the simple things to be thankful for.

Before, I would always hold out for the major events, accomplishments or success to celebrate or express thanks. Now I can get a giddy thrill out of fresh bread baking, hearing a mocking bird singing in the moring or even play wrestling with my dog.

I'm thankful for my ability to appreciate the simple things. Flashy Parties, Women and Cars no longer required.

Niche Man, what a great reply! You're totally right..it really is enjoying the simple, little things in life.

During the taping of Lifeclass, Oprah was talking about this and she mentioned how it changes your outlook on a daily basis. She was telling a funny story about how she hadn't reached her 5 "daily blessings" for the day and was out and saw 2 cute chipmunks and added that to her list to make it a daily 5 lol So of course, not everyday is going to be something BIG to be grateful for but that's just the point, finding happiness in small things. I think that just makes you realize how blessed, rich and full of abundance our lives already are.

For me, this definitely hit home when my baby niece and nephew came into my life. Just being able to share precious moments with those two, like colouring pictures with them or dancing around and just being plain silly makes you realize how blessed you truly are.

      Thanks for sharing...love ittttt!!!
