How many times have you said I will do _________ today?

Just think about it!

I started to study online about internet marketing almost 2 years ago. I have had many great ideas and perhaps I learned the basics of the Internet marketing.

BUT!

Then it came the procrastination!

Have you ever thought where would you be if in all these days, weeks, months, or years if you just followed your ideas and implemented them in some, or perhaps, in ANY way??

I was 2 years saying

I will start tomorrow
I can wait, no one has my idea
That's so simple that I can do it in a few hours
I'll just check my fb, 9gag or any other distractions for a few minutes (that ends up being hours)
Today is friday, saturday, sunday or free day

...And soooooooooooooo many more!

Consider what I just said, have you been one of those who say this kind of things?

I had some very bad moments that made me OPEN MY EYES AND TAKE ACTIONS!

There is nothing hard in that!

STOP PROCRASTINATING!

If you feel lazy get up! set your mind with a goal! take a walk (at least for me it's one of the best things you can do), imagine where could you be if you start working! Get an agenda, diary or something! Even in your cellphones calendar or alarm or if you have a smartphone download some app to organize your life!

Organizing your time is one of the best ways to stop procrastinating!

Create a schedule of all of your day!

At least once a day (depending on you) there will be something telling you DO SOMETHING! START WORKING!

You will see it and that's enough to even make you think about it, at least once a day! every day of the week! Create a schedule about your whole day! create at least one hour to start learning and taking ACTIONS!

Perhaps I'm not an experienced marketer, but by just reading and setting my mind on it I know that one day I will be on top and SO CAN YOU!

START TAKING ACTIONS!

Every experienced Internet Marketer tells the same! You need to take actions to see results!

Hope you can use this as a method of, let's say, inspiration to overcome procrastination and start becoming the successful person you want to be!

It would be very nice if you can share tips of how you fight to beat the procrastination everyone has its own tips that can work for other ones!

Mine is taking a walk, sitting in an appropriate working place and creating a schedule for my daily activties!!

I believe procrastination is when you don't do something about what you feel about a certain subject.

For most of the time, if you condition yourself first, like remembering why you want to do such thing in the first place, that will motivate you to take the action or do something.

Procrastination is a feeling that is telling you to do something about what you feel before doing it. Of course, you can bypass this and wrestle yourself on the ground but that will wear you down eventually because you are just forcing yourself.

How do I fight my procrastination?

I make my work sessions fun by bringing in food, snacks.
Listening to music also helps (it has been said that music helps to maintain your work momentum)

Splitting your work helps too. Just do bit-by-bit everyday if you aren't pressured for the dateline.

But the most important and effective way I feel, is to be disturbed. Get disturbed on all levels by why you are procrastinating and the effects of procrastinating too much.

You can, for example, say to yourself, why am I such a weakling for procrastinating so much, and that's just on a personal level.

On a work level you can say, I am never going to earn my dream money if I continue to be like that today.
As long as it's something that disturbs you.

I think forcing yourself it's a bit harsh. Personally I think that I will be more forced to do something I don't like and working for somebody the rest of my life than being able to clear my mind of the things that are pushing me back from making my own income and being my own boss, but that's just my point of view about procrastination in the internet marketing subject!

Haha, not that kind of disturb, but the disturbance of the soul.

It's like the feeling/state you get when you realise your dateline is tomorrow and you haven't started anything yet.

It is always good to imagine these sort of disturbances to drive you working even though they aren't true (to a certain extent)

    I use this :

    - RescueTime chrome plugin
    - FocusBooster software

    It prevents you from :

1 - loosing time on time wasting websites
2 - focus for x minutes on completing a specific task.

I find it to be effective for me

    Some good info here!

I like to put on a timer and work for 55 mins then take a 5 minute break. Repeat as many times as you need to.

I tend to think we always put off what we fear or perceive as difficult or hard work. The problem is to much focus on the process and too little action on the task, ( thats my problem anyway). Get a TO Do List and ban yourself from chocolate if you dont complete it. works for me.

WOW! Some really great posts in here with helpful solutions.

That's what I like about this place.

First thing I do is get organized and make a to do list for the day broken down into simple tasks that need to get done. The hardest part is simply getting started but after I do I just go doown the list of tasks that need done.

And taking breaks is important to me.

    Hi, everybody

I just landed here and I'm a big Suffering person when it come to "Procrastination"

Could anybody imagine that I suffer of this "Syndrome" for almost 20 years!
I feel like my info overload had put me a pray for this beast I call Procrastination.
But I think that what is more important is having a clear view of "How and Where to start". With a lot of scams and empty promises we got from the Gurus and ending empty handed, it swings a lot of us from seeing the real Goal, to become free and independent.
I'm waiting for the "Shining Light" to hit me anywhere, I don't care if it hit in my face, my head, my brain just to get hit.
Maybe, I'll find some help in this positive thread.
    Peace

I find it that most people have two voices that talk to them most of the time. The retrogressive voices tells you there is no urgency. The progressive voice say do it now. You have a choce who to listen to. Unfortunately, most people listen to the retrogressive voice-at least from my casual observation.

A boxing promoter does not throw in his developing star into the ring with a champion. He develops his star by pitting him against easy, but progressively more challenging opponents.

In the same way, you need to set yourself up for small successes in your fight against procrastination, followed by bigger challenges.

Your first step may be something as simple as typing a Warrior forum reply!

      Hi, David;
Your example is so simple and inspiring. Your explanation for the first step approach proved to me I'm hitting in the right direction.
      Thank you.
