I believe that creating a big enough WHY is one of the most important success factors.

You still need to work in areas where you have passion and drive.

The key lies in knowing what you need t do and doing it. You can be inspired all the day long, but without the ability to take action you will fail miserably. In fact, most people who take action still fail, but they fail smartly.

The best thing you can do is to get as many unique failures as possible, so that you can learn from your mistakes. There are too many mistakes you can make - so there is no need to make the same one over and over again.

Desire might get you moving towards the goal, but along the way, you will need reinforcement, footholds, visible progress, and something to keep the desire alive. Early loss, for example, in business, can ruin your desire, motive and approach towards the goal.

Andy made a great point-

Everyone wants to be in a better place than they are now- more money, healthier, better relationships, greater location, etc.

Besides just desire, you also have to have some kind of plan to get to where you want to go. You can hop in a car and drive for days, but if you don't have a map- or even a specific destination- I doubt you'll get to where you want to go.
