Create a to-do list every night before you go to sleep.

Everything on that to-do list must have a start time and end time

Try it, it works for me I do it every single day and as the day goes on and I complete things on the list I scratch it off.

I end up finishing everything way before my end time.

Also be sure to include 30 minute breaks too.

Here's something I've been doing that has proven to be pretty effective. I've always wanted to study physics as soon as possible in the morning when I wake up instead of snoozing my alarm clock every 10 minutes. So what I've done is drawn a little sketch in red ink of a bed but with demonic horns sticking out of the bed's head. I've also added glowing eyes and drawn fire emitting everywhere. Then with terrifying schizophrenic handwriting, I've written this next to the bed, also in red ink:

    DON'T GO BACK!

I've also added a small arrow at the bottom of the sketch pointing outside the room and a drawing of a physics text book below it.

    Worked like a charm.
