Just curious if any of you guys incorporate "The Power of Now" (Eckhart Tolle) in your lives? That book helped initiate a monumental shift in how I approach business, and life in general.

I love the process he describes (on page 33 in my Hodder Mobius edition) for dissolving negative feelings that are held in the ‘pain body’. It’s rather like the Sedona Method - just ‘watch‘ the feeling, allow it to be there, don’t fight it - and it will often melt away of it’s own accord. It takes some practise, since we become so identified with our pain, but once you get the hang of it you can get some pretty amazing results.

It's nice to see there are others here who are familiar with the Sedona Method

I prefer the Release Technique, though I don't use it as often as I used to (I mix and match a variety of techniques), but allowing really does work.

And I'm surprised this thread doesn't have enough attention.

The fact is everything we worry about has to do with the future. Likewise, resentment, anger, guilt and regret are all rooted in the past.

Since we only exist now, the past and future does not exist except in our minds as concepts. In other words, it's all made up in our minds. That's not to say the past didn't happen, but if a past event is over, it is now irrelevant because it is not happening now and therefore we can let it go.

But the mind likes to make the past so significant and personal (as if that is what defines us!). We can never be in the future, nor can we be in the past, since we are permanently rooted in the present.

For this reason every time we think about the future or the past (i.e. experience negative emotions) we are pretending to not be in the present. And as long as we conceptually get into the past or future, our business endeavors will be compromised. Namely, if you're afraid of making a mistake, you're projecting into the future (which of course hasn't happened).

Thus anyone looking to succeed in business would do well to master the mind by consciously remaining aware of the present moment instead of going into memory (past) or projecting into the future.

Why? Because when you are fully present, you are in a state of flow and there is no question that your rate of success goes up when you are in such a state.

So how do 'get' present? Here's one quick method: Take a few slow deep breaths and watch yourself. Within seconds, you'll notice your heartbeat and will become aware of the present moment.

That's a good point; I've also found that working with different techniques has worked best for me. I also like the Option Method and Byron Katie's The Work (both of which you can learn for free). Ultimately, all of these processes boil down to letting go of unconscious resistance; once you do that, magic happens!

OKAY, now are you READY for the very LAST LESSON you will EVER NEED in MANIFESTING any goal you desire?

        Well, here it is.

There are a few ways to really knock the ball out of the park with your releasing, particularly with an iCap Release Meter...

        Here's one:

WORKING WITH GOALS. This is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY powerful!

Please, do not underestimate it. Print it out. Commit it to memory.

Practice it until it becomes 100% natural and where you take these steps on every goal without even thinking about it anymore...

If you have been releasing to achieve a particular goal, but it just hasn't seemed to come into being yet, this indicates you still have subconscious resistance to making a change in who you are BEING in relation to that goal.

In other words, you haven't made the shift -- from WANTING to HAVING.

Using the meter, your CDs, or just working in your workbook, here's how to eliminate your resistance to "allowing" that goal to show up for you EXTREMELY QUICKLY:

        1. You must have a strong enough "initial" WANT for that goal. If you really don't want it, and are just sort of "toying" with it, nothing will happen.

You see, there is NO CREATION without desire.

Lester mentions this in his "Keys to the Ultimate Freeedom" book...

(USED copies of this rare book have sold on Amazon.com for up to $800
lately -- however we've found the original manuscript and made it available again.
This new printing called, "The Way to Complete Freeedom," is available for
purchase ONLY at the Seven Day Retreats.

This amazing book is yours to have if you make your order before tonight's deadline).

        Getting back to Step 1...

You must WANT the goal -- whether it be a car, a house, a girlfriend or
complete freeedom/imperturbability. If you don't want it, here's what happens...

You'll "toy" with it - "play" with it and never even get to Step 2 which is
        where you actually CHOOSE it.

If your Step 1 isn't in place, then DON'T EVEN BOTHER going any further.

You're still in the dugout and haven't even come up to bat.

Get step one in place. You can make sure step one is in place by listing all the benefits you would experience if you were already in possession of your goal. As you read each benefit, desire for that goal will build, and that will help you overcome the ego resistance you will hit in step three.

Without desire, nothing will happen. Your programs will remain submerged.

If you don't have a strong enough desire for "freeedom" let's say, when your ego throws up it's resistance, you will immediately back down and stay stuck in your current self-concept.

        So, that's the first step.

You must want to be IMPERTURBABLE in relation to HAVING, BEING or DOING that particular goal. Next step...

        2. You must CHOOSE to BE the ONE with that goal.

Most people get endlessly STUCK in WANTING/LACKING and therefore never achieve their goal. They may get to step one, but then that's where they remain stuck.

So, get yourself to Step 2.

If you've attended my classes, you've heard me say that "wanting," or the word "want" is the most negative word in the English language. It is.

Desire is the root of all suffering. If we had no desire, we'd all be totally FREEE! (pardon the extra "E's" - we need to quell the overzealous spam filters which don't like that word with two EEs as they think it spam.)

And, I can hear you now...

        BUT, LARRY!!!!

Why are you telling me that I must HAVE desire for my goal if desire is such a negative thing?

        Well, I'll tell you why.

Because most of us are so completely STUCK in our programs that we need a
very strong DESIRE to get unstuck...

... it's like using one thorn to remove another thorn from your foot.. then both thorns are eventually tossed...

In other words, you use the DESIRE to ultimately UNDO the DESIRE so
you can live in the UNLIMITED state of Pure and Simple Beingness, which
is all joy, all peace, all abundance --- ALL OF THE TIME!

When you reach that stage, you won't need desire anymore.

You will not only HAVE everything, you will feel you are ONE with Everything --
that you are completely limitless in every direction.

Then, you can HAVE, BE or DO whatever you wish without effort --- just an effortless thought will bring it into Being.

However, at that point, there's no more need for the creation. You can take it or leave it. You've seen through the veil. You have fully realized that all these "things, people, achievements" in life will NEVER in a MILLION YEARS bring you ONE IOTA of peace or happiness.

At MOST, they will temporarily quell a painful desire so that your mind quiets
and you feel the Self, which is joy...

Then, you will probably do as most do and assign that joy to the thing or person
or achievement, when it never is there. It is always within you. That Joy IS You.

There is no difference. Joy is that Natural State. Love is the Natural State. Peace is the Natural State. Freeedom is the Natural State.

Call it what you will -- it's all the same exact thing -- you being your Being-ness.

So, get Step 1 one in place. Then, get yourself to step 2.

Even just saying out loud or silently to yourself, "I want _____ (insert goal),
followed by "I choose _____ (goal), will help you make this shift into the mode that is ripe for releasing the upcoming resistance that WILL come up.

        3. RELEASE THE RESISTANCE: Here's where you put your intention
        to the test.

Once you make the decision to HAVE, BE or DO a particular goal, you should be 100% prepared to face the ego resistance that will come up -- and, oh yes, it will come up. That's ego's job.

It's job is to protect and defend your current self-concept -- your programming. It doesn't care what the program or self-concept might be.

It could be "I am rich" or "I am poor". Your ego doesn't care which one you've
chosen -- but once you've chosen -- it will defend that decision and help
you maintain that self-concept by throwing up RESISTANCE when you try to change it.

If you have wealth consciousness, it will support you in staying wealthy. If you have poverty consciousness, it will support you in remaining poor. The point is, ego is giving you your particular life experience by defending and maintaining your current self-concept.

If you want to change it, it will RESIST. That's it's job... to maintain your current
"reality". So, God bless it. It's working hard and doing a fantastic job for you.

In fact as there is nothing other than Self/Beingness, then even ego is that Self, so what's there to fight with? It's all perfect. Just love the ego and it won't give you
any trouble. I promise. So, be ready for the ego to do it's job and resist your efforts to change your self-concept/programming with all it's considerable might.

Without the ego, you would never have been able to experience pain, suffering, lack, heartbreak, limitation, etc... as these are completely UNNATURAL to the REAL YOU. These have NOTHING to do with who you really ARE.

So, no ego means complete freeedom from lack, limitation, sadness and the feeling of separation from others and from your own Self/Being. NOW...

Once Steps 1 and 2 are in place, you're ready to face the ego's resistance.

If you have one, put your iCap Release Meter headband (or if you don't have one, just pull out your notebook or workbook) and begin the Goals releasing exercise. It's on the CDs and it is also built right into the iCap Release Meter software in a
        simple, click-and-go format.

Start out by reading the goal, either to yourself or out loud, if possible. Notice the resistance that surfaces when you ponder having, doing, or being that goal.

It will show up as a clutch or a tightness in your stomach or chest (but sometimes it's more subtle due to a layer of resistance we're "floating" on, which could show up as a blank, numb, or empty "feeling.")

This is why I'm strongly encouraging everyone to get a Release Meter.

Even the most subtle resistance -- no matter how the ego tries to hide it from you -- you will see it right there on your computer screen straight from your brainwave activity. Once the resistance arises, trace it back to the underlying "want" and
        let it go.

If you're working on a Meter, you'll SEE the resistance drop.

At first, the meter will probably show a lot of agitation with a high reading on the graph, audible tone, or with the floating ball -- depending on how much "charge" there is on the thought of achieving that goal.

As you release your resistance with the meter, you'll see the ball drop, the line go lower or the tone will drop to a deeper pitch. This will tell you you've dropped that layer of resistance.

CONTINUE reading the goal again, stirring up more resistance to HAVING,
BEING or DOING your goal and then release from the underlying "want" again.

Keep going until your are nice and quiet.

If you click the "Goals" session in the iCap software or are listening to the CDs/tapes, you will be walked through this process -- or you can simply do the basic "Goal Chart" and the "Attachments and Aversions Exercise" in the workbook.

If on an iCap Release Meter, complete the session and you will be given your average score for that session -- your "release number".

Each time you go through this brief six or seven minute "Goals" releasing exercise, you will see your resistance to having that goal drop steadily. As it does, your feeling of, "I have the goal. It is mine NOW!", will steadily increase until the line or ball is very low on the meter or you simply feel totally "hootless" about the goal, and you feel 100% CERTAIN that the goal is ALREADY YOURS.

From there -- from that feeling of "The goal is now mine," it will show up for you very quickly.

THAT'S IT. DO NOTHING ELSE. MAKE NO "MENTAL EFFORT" in TRYING TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL or in DOING anything. "Be not the doer", as Lester would say. Or...

        "Get everything by releasing ONLY."

        THIS IS IMPORTANT!

If you still feel the need to exert effort to achieve your goal, march right back to your Meter, the CDs or the workbook, because you're not there yet.

You've got more releasing to do, as there is still resistance that is keeping you from making the necessary BEING change from the one "wanting" the goal, to the
one HAVING the goal. YES, the body WILL get up and go about it's business.

It will do whatever it needs to in alignment with who you believe yourself to be (i.e. as a "rich person" self-concept you'll take actions that bring you more money,
as a "poor person" self-concept, you will find yourself taking actions that lose you money).

Your self-concept is your blueprint. SIMPLE, isn't it? So, yes, let the body get up and go about playing it's role in bringing your goal to fruition...

        BUT USE ZERO EFFORT.

Let yourself "float" effortlessly through your day. This is one instance where "floating" is a positive thing, as opposed to "floating" over your programs which is just resistance and suppressing the unwanted programs.

Try being the "witness," watching yourself float through life and watch as things unfold effortlessly -- miraculously -- without your exerting ANY mental effort to
achieve your goals. Again, EFFORT = EGO.

No effort = letting your Beingness do everything for you. This is the Natural State -- one of peace, joy and imperturbability where you find yourself 100% SELF-assured, instead of looking for validation outside of yourself.

That's the BUTT SYSTEM. There's literally NO LIMIT to what it can bring you if you follow those simple steps of:

        - WANTING the goal enough to face the resistance that WILL arise when you attempt to change your self-concept/programming.

        - CHOOSING the goal, which is making the leap from a wanting or lacking state to one of HAVING, BEING, or DOING the goal desired.

        - RELEASING using the Method, preferably with an iCap Release Meter, which will allow you to clearly see EXACTLY where you're at with regard to how much subconscious resistance remains on that particular issue or goal. Keep releasing until the feeling is 100% "I HAVE IT!" which is when the meter will reflect back to you it's lowest reading.

        - JUST LET IT GO. Go about your day -- effortlessly. Letting it unfold perfectly for you, to easily bring to you what you.

Pay attention to the promptings of your intuition, which is ALWAYS 100% accurate. It's when we get into "figuring things out" that things get all screwed up.

        - ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR ACHIEVEMENT... AND... remember that each time you drop resistance to achieving a goal, it is bringing you one step closer to the ULTIMATE GOAL of COMPLETE FREEEDOM from LIMITATIONS and TOTAL IMPERTURBABILITY and leaving you closer to the unlimited state.

"You must become a winner in life. If you are not a winner, it means you have 'anti' programs." - Lester Levenson

        And, finally...

        - DON'T STOP. Keep doing your goal charts until you are completely free of any limitations whatsoever. Also, be alert to...

        PRIDE.

As you achieve your goals and start becoming super-successful, pride is likely to pop up for you. That's OKAY. Let it come up. Don't fight or resist it or you'll get stuck in it.

Simply welcome it up as you would any other feeling and "allow" it to pass through. You might even want to do the "Pride" releasing exercise on the Meter or CDs to clear it out. The more pride you let go of, the faster your future goals will manifest.

"PRIDE IS A HIDE," as Lester would say.

We "hide" in our past achievements retelling our successes to others, somehow feeling we may not be able to repeat them. This keeps us very stuck. So, don't run from the pride, or pretend it's not there or fight with it. Just welcome it up and let it pass through -- nice and easy.

Keep releasing so you can rise back up into COURAGEOUSNESS, ACCEPTANCE, AND PEACE. Pride can be very subtle and can be a very stuck place.

The "Pride" exercise should be done frequently by everyone as that is really the last bastion of negativity before popping up into the higher energies of courage, acceptance and peace.

I was going to cover other applications for the meter, as there are SO MANY, but
this message is already getting pretty long, so let me stop here for now so the message doesn't get diluted. I'll share more later. That's all for now.

While Larry Crane's Butt System does work, the problem with the butt system is this notion that you just sit on your butt and release your feeling associated with a goal, and then the goal magically appears. Believe it or not, this does happen and I've had such manifestations happen, but it wasn't consistent and it seems a large number of people haven't gotten it to work.

Clearly, letting go of resistance is necessary for us to make changes, but the problem I see with frequently focusing on letting go is that it makes you draw your attention upon more things to let go, thus creating an endless loop of looking for more negativity. Thus, by focusing on more negativity to clear, you get more of it!

But the more you release, the more negativity you let go of - even though it may seem endless at times, it will eventually clear. I've found that releasing gets easier and easier, the key thing above all else to hang in there and don't allow yourself to become discouraged.

Resistance can be a tricky customer - it can make you think releasing is harder than it actually is. As Lester Levenson said: KISS - Keep It Simple Sweetheart! Just stick with the process and eventually dawn will break and you'll start to get those wonderful gains.

Well, I used to be a hardcore releaser, and there was even a time when I went through a 4-6 week course in less than a week. During that time I slept an average of 3 hours a day because I spent so much time releasing, and the results were incredible. Only problem is that the more I kept releasing, the more garbage I kept finding.

So I no longer see the need to have to release everything. In fact, I strongly disagree with having to do that. My life is so much lighter and more at ease as a result. Does releasing work? Absolutely, but there comes a point where if all I'm doing is releasing then I'm not living.

I also experienced more 'manifestations' using other techniques, like affirmations, and the reason I believe is because I'm focusing on what I want, not what I don't want. So if I'm focusing on garbage to release, then I'm focusing on what I don't want.

BTW, I find it rather interesting how Lester himself never specifically taught releasing. His method of going free was by 'squaring everything with love'.

That is exactly how it is.
Also after reading Lesters story i feel that the now both parties who lead the releasing ways ( there are more authors etc who teach the method ) are gone farer what Lester actually talked about.

I do release, but i have gone sort of back into roots, the way how it was done by Lester. One more note.. we actually do not need to release, since we are already perfect.. only thing is.. we do not believe it and yes the crap we have accepted as reality ( mind = egobody.. etc ) is the part of it why it is as it is

To make the journey into the Now we will need to leave our analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. From the very first page of this extraordinary book, we move rapidly into a significantly higher altitude where we breathe a lighter air. We become connected to the indestructible essence of our Being, “The eternal, ever present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death.”

Although the journey is challenging, Eckhart Tolle uses simple language and an easy question and answer format to guide us. A word of mouth phenomenon since its first publication, The Power of Now is one of those rare books with the power to create an experience in readers, one that can radically change their lives for the better.

Honestly, Its really helped me. It helped to get me out of the learning state and into the actual trying and doing type of state.

Before I was constantly learning, but then I realized that nothing was happening because that was all I was doing. Now I'm acting and has really turned my life around.

I have read the book "The power of now" and I was absolutely impresse. The basic principle is so simple: nothing else is more important that the present moment.

I haven't read that book but even from the title I know that it's nothing special.
The basic as I read "present moment is best/most important" - is that something new to you everybody? Of course there always will be a moment when you get started with something, something that will lead you to success. For me it's too simple, waste of time.

One of my favourite books of all time. It's very opening and insightful. It doesn't necessarily try to force anything down your throat or onto you at all which is why I love it even more.

I didn't read the book but I've used Eckhart Tolle's quotes many times on my fanpage. When I hear about the Power of Now, it reminds me of 2 things:

    1. A video, I watch repeatedly: Take action now from Marshall Sylver: it's a video that encourages you to take immediate action on thoughts you may have not only in your business but in your life as well

    2. Satori: Living in the now or Present

And coming to think about it, I'm pretty much sure the book has to do with Satori.

Do I live in Satori? I pretty much try everyday to live in the now more and more.

    Does it help?
A great bunch! I mean before I would of how I couldn't make a payment at the end of the month.
And today, I only care of the payment I have to make today. And strange enough, that payment at the end of the month somehow is made but without me stressing, worrying about it all month long.

I'm learning everyday not to live in the past nor the future but to live in the now/present/satori

God told the israelites not to gather manna for more than one day. It says alot about living your life one day at a time as if it were your last.

Boy I didn't it to be this long, but these are my thoughts on the subject. I might even do a blog post about it.

    Thanks for the thread

Love Eckart Tolle’s work, especially A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. I enjoyed that even more than The Power of Now. TPoN is good though too because it was his first book and took off. I read most of his works including his videos as well. I studied him a bit too.

What is incredibly fascinating in all of his work is that he never specifically stated , “This is how you move into the present moment.” He only alludes to it. He talks about the present moment all the time. And he sounds like he is speaking from the present moment as well. I often wonder if it was because of his traumatic experience early on (that he refused to talk about ever – for so long, until Oprah). Maybe it was that depressive experience that moved him into the present moment that he did not want to teach others how to do it?

Of course he does teach meditation and talk about that as well. Just – can anybody find direct quotes of him teaching specific steps of how to obtain the present moment? I couldn’t.

I have since gone on to learn how to do it for myself. Quick, easy, and doable under almost any conditions. Absolutely incredible, this present moment, and glad I learned how to get here (and stay here).

The book from eckhart tolle is fabulous he want to focus to practice thinking now only , let the future happen naturally . But the thing is human tendency is to plan for future. So it takes time to get eliminated.

The Power of Now is one of my favorite books of ALL TIME. It changed my life and allowed me to simply go with the flow.

The thing people dont realize is they cause a lot of unnecessary stress for themselves. They push and push and fight the current moment. If only they relaxed and realized that at THAT very moment they are in.. they're just fine.

Its all about acting in the present moment and letting go of trying to control the future just do the best with each second and moment you get and life will be MUCH easier.

This makes me want to go back to my book and skim through and refresh on things. Its a rainy day oh what the heck I might aswell!

I just finished watching an interview the other day of Eckhart Tolle. A few years ago I read/watched/listened to everything he had out. Just a wonderful man to listen to. So calming. He seems to speak from the present moment very well.

I especially enjoyed the teaching series he did with Oprah.

Having watched his interview I was reminded again of how it is a feeling can distract us from being in the present moment. So enticing.

But I also disagree with his desire to eliminate the ego. I personally believe it is the ego that enables us to produce results, achieve goals, and deliver actual accomplishments. When the ego submits to the heart then we live in balance and harmony while enjoying what life has to offer.

I loved how Eckhart described in the interview about keeping our desire and to not live a life of eliminating desire. Sometimes I hear about how Buddhism (he is big on that) teaches to eliminate all desire. Wanting is the root of all suffering, after all. But by keeping the desire within healthy bounds we can still enjoy life.

  • People talking about Sedona method. Please, expand your knowledge before placing your bets on an "author".
It doesn't take much experience to know that authors copy and reinterprate. namely, that method of visualizing pain is nothing more but zazen meditation. A name will suffice.

It has nothing of the magnitude of Ecchart Tolle. Although I've red way harder texts so he's light for me, I suggest you people give him some thought.
Then, try someone like Emile Cioran or Ladislav Klima.
