Staying Positive even if the RENT was due last week and no sign of income coming...

Hey everyone... I like this section of the WF so much... I am on the edge... I lost my regular paying job last month and the rent was due last week and the internet bill was due 3 weeks ago... The Electricity will be due in 8 days and food is only good for 2 weeks... I'm supporting a family and my parents... You can say Im in a tight position right now... Yeah I agree but it won't help me if I panic or lose control... I did my best I guess... Posting my services everywhere... I got a little contract after I lost my job but it was only good for a couple of weeks... So what Im saying is... Look at my position... I am not worried and still thinks that one of these days the Creator will show me something... I was in this position before but my constant prayer and trust made my family alive... So now my message is --I will get through this, not because of what I can do, but because of what I believe to be true... and that is --The Almighty will never abandon those who call him...

      Sometimes it is very difficult to genuinely express how one feels when stories like this one is heard. I sensitize with what you are going through and agree with what Niche Man has said already. Things do no always remain the same, even though unpleasant at times. I found myself in similar situation many times before, but a "way of escape was always provided", If you know what I am referring to. I truly believe that your way of escape is on the way. You are so positive.

    First of all hats off to you cvcena. As you have maintained your composure and patience in such stormy times.
    Second thing which I really appreciate about you is that you are still constantly prying to god and your faith and trust is immovable like a mountain.
    What i have felt that God sometime takes an examination of people who are most devoted to him and whom he wants to bestow upon his goodness,
    You must have heard it and read a hundred times that night is darkest just before the dawn.
    But I want to suggest you a little thing.
    Instead of saying in your prayers "I will get through this" start saying "I am living a well to do and rich life. With good and increasing earnings."

    I hope this may do miracles for you as it has done for others.

    Last year, I was in a similar situation (I owed nearly $8000) and I got through it! I can tell you right now, it's all about your mind! Here is basically what I did:

    1) I REFUSED to entertain negativity, regardless of how 'real' it felt. Yes negative thoughts show up but we have the power to literally not give it energy.

    2) I interrupted negativity whenever it crossed my mind. I vigilantly watched myself as I did this, and I also maintained an attitude of "this is just a big fat lie"

    3) I practiced feeling grateful everyday.

    4) I frequently focused my attention on positive things via meditation or even by watching comedians on youtube

    Over the course of a few days I noticed I was feeling lighter and lighter about my circumstances, and that led me to see an opportunity which enabled me to pay off all my debt, 2 months rent, and bills in a seemingly miraculous manner a month later. It had NOTHING to do with hard work.

    Opportunities are around us but when we're stressed we literally can't see them. Don't believe me? Check out this article excerpt by a professor who did studies on luck:
    Personality tests revealed that unlucky people are generally much more tense than lucky people, and research has shown that anxiety disrupts people's ability to notice the unexpected. In one experiment, people were asked to watch a moving dot in the centre of a computer screen. Without warning, large dots would occasionally be flashed at the edges of the screen. Nearly all participants noticed these large dots.

    The experiment was then repeated with a second group of people, who were offered a large financial reward for accurately watching the centre dot, creating more anxiety. They became focused on the centre dot and more than a third of them missed the large dots when they appeared on the screen. The harder they looked, the less they saw.

    And so it is with luck - unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties intent on finding their perfect partner and so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and as a result miss other types of jobs. [B]Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for.

    My research revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four basic principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

    When I had that huge breakthrough, I realize I was automatically applying those 4 principles.

    I noticed an opportunity, I trusted my intuition as it literally felt real good to do that, I expected things to work out and I refused to let negative thoughts get in my way regardless of circumstances.

      I don't know if you are a Christian, but just in case you are, you may appreciate this:
      For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

      "The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the LORD will prosper." (Proverbs 28:25)

      Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
      in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6)

      And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Rom 8:28)

      Also consider the implications of this:

      Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)

      Many times Christians focus on what they don't have and so they place more faith in their own doubts/fears than they do on God. In other words, the above statement is saying to focus on that which is excellent or praiseworthy. And being stuck in fear is definitely not praiseworthy, nor is it excellent.

      This is a good reason to "not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Rom 12:2) So many people are stuck in negativity that they literally can't see the forest for the trees.

      And Jesus even says to stop worrying:

      25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

      28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
      Notice how it says 'see how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin'. That is something to really reflect on!

      So what if there is a MUCH easier way to get things done instead of working hard? And what if placing your trust in God will actually allow you to relax and bring forth creative solutions?

    I'm wishing you all the best, cvcena. I'm in a very similar situation myself and I'm trying very hard to believe that one day everything will be ok, but things look very dim for me at the moment. I am several hundred dollars behind on the rent and I know any day now the landlord is going to send that eviction letter if I don't pay up soon. The only thing I can do is to work hard every minute I can until things get better. Stay positive...

    It's a bit like the analogy of someone putting a loaded gun to your head and saying: "I want you to make £5000 in a week or i'll blow your brains out"

    When you're put in a situation where you have nowhere else to go, your creativity will shine and you'll naturally come up with ways to make money. Anythings possible bro. We're all in this as a group. Lets make stuff happen!

    Wow that is dedication!!!! I have been close to that and it is not fun. Is there anything I can help with as it concerns your business.     Reading your post a story just came to my mind. It happend long ago in the Middle East.
    A place called Samaria was encircled by it's enemy. As a result of this there was a big famine in the city. It was recorded that some women ate each others children because the lack of food. The enemy was so strong and numrous that it seemed impossible to defeat them.
    But there was one man who who beleived in a simple sentence told by his God.
    As a result of this the whole situation changed during one night. The enemy run away and left behing a huge amount of food, clothes and other goods.

    My personal oppinnion is that if it could happen once there is no way to stop happening it again!

    You've screwed up! admit it. You've f#$%^$ up, admit it. If you don't do something soon - you may have to face the music.. you're scared to death.. your backs on the wall - your family is on the verge of breaking - you have no clue how you're going to arrange for the money. You need money like blood in your viens..

    well I have been there, I've been financially dead.. worse than wordds can describe.. and here's what I have learned. Who hasn't.. the people we call successful are the ones who has overcome monumental problems in life .. they have had more failures than successes..

    Problems and challenges are a part of live.. it builds your character and teaches you life's lessons the hard way. ut when times are tough, it might drive you crazy .. but remember tough times(emotional/physical pain) can benefit you in four distinct ways;


    1. It kind of immunes you to the pain
    2. It adds to your character
    3. You prove your toughness to yourself
    4. Now you have the knowledge to help people in similar situations


    Now this is what I want you to do...

    Remember, you need your sanity back to think clearly and take decisive actions.. so focus on generating money than paying a $100 bill.. to be in that state you need some funds in your hand to breathe.


    Step 1 - Arrange for some funds to take care of your family for the next three months

    Step 2 - Use some funds to invest in revenue generation

    Step 3 - Put in financial controls to handle your cashflow and debts


    Ye, it all sounds very easy bro - but how do I get the money to give myself the luxury of three months, you ask?


    Here's what you sould do now..

    1. List all your physical and intellectual assets youve got (cars,electronics,websites,domains.. etc)

    2. List of all your special resources and talents and experiences you've (your job, online experience, special skills and knowledge)

    3. All your projects and ideas you've been working on....

    4. List all your friends and relatives you spoke to in the last 30 days


    Now look through the list to sell of some stuff, amulgamate your existing resources to comeup with new revenue streams..borrow... somehow get a loan or a signifact amount of funds.

    This is the key, else for the next 10-12 months you'll keep struggling to make your monthly bills.. instead a loan can give you the spare time to think straight and take positive actions..

    You're in a bad situation, there's no denying it - take charge and know that life is about solving problems.. and your problem is negligable compared to your potential and the kind of resources you have at your disposal.

    I'm sure you'll find a way if you look hard enough, turn every rock and have a bull dog determination to fix your situation.

    Shift your mode from ..something good is about to happen, i need a miracle, god help me TO..

    "I'm the man, the situation is under control, you guys have nothing to worry I have figured it all out".. stand straight with your chest held high and say to yourself - "i'm going to make things better one way or another.. even if I have to die for it..

    Make that commitment and mount pressure on yourself by realizing.. this is the last shot you have to save your family.. or whatever motivates you. If you can't make it happen - you're going to loose your family. And utilize this pressure to come with ideas, opportunities .. this works.

    A magical thing happens when you're not scraed of the outcome - you either fight or die.

    Successful people lives their entire life on these terms - thay have overcome mamoth failures in life and you're no different..

    I don't want to make this a motivational speech - just take charge of the situation, stand tall and you can chnage your reality knowing that you're problem is negligible compared to your resources at your disposal - you can make magic things happen with just one simple idea.

    A friend of mine went through the same situation as you did. But she did not lose her job, she quits. With no savings, poor health due to her last employment she was clueless as to what to do next and where to get her income. She was not the breadwinner of the family but they are still financially unstable due to their house being renovated.

    I was skeptical at first on her point of view of not panicking but then she prove me wrong. She is now earning the same amount as when she was employed before, yet she only stayed at home. She found and online job and started a printing shop.

    She did not gave up on losing her job, she stayed positive and clam all throughout. I was pretty amazing. She told just have faith and know your blessing if it comes your ways.
