Do you have a backup plan?

I get asked this question at my seminars. Did I have a backup plan. People are in shock when I say NO!!! I say that because I said I was not going to fall back on anything. I made up in my mind that I was going to make it no matter what. Make sure you do the same thing. It may sound crazy, but it will propel you forward.

There's an interesting quote from the movie "Gattaca" that comes to mind:

"You want to know how I did it? I never saved anything for the swim back"

Security is very dangerous, no matter how crazy that sounds. Call it the comfort zone
if you like. When you have security you are not really motivated to do something. On
the other hand, when you know that you have no other choice but to succeed you
    get into completely different mindset.

That's one of the reasons why people don't succeed. They have food, shelter and
even entertainment. Basic needs are taken care of. They don't feel the urge to do
something. But, when you are in a situation that you have to do it or you are going
to stop existing - different story.

I remember that movie. I was too young to understand when I first saw it because I was living with my parents. Now that I am out from under their protective wings I can relate. Too bad good movies like that one are getting rarer and rarer.

You gotta be hungry to make it in the field. That desire, that want, that need propels you forward. Always going forward and never letting a setback make you give up. Because giving up is the end.

But that doesn't mean to not make back ups of your hard drive or save money for a rainy day.

Yeah... in a way, having a back up plan means that you've already allowed failure to defeat you. Why look back when your desire is to move forward?

But, I also see how having one can simply mean that you are tactical in your execution.

I don't really have a backup plan, but I will say that for me, there is no option but to succeed because I know what I want, and I'm going after it.

Making Plan B's before you even start working on plan A, means that you're expecting to fail on achieving your plan A. Stop signing yourself up to fail and focus on how to achieve plan A.

Eliminating a plan B is a fundamental mindset we need in order to start on our journey of success. Too often we create space for a contingency instead of committing ourselves wholeheartedly to our intended goal as this allows us to draw upon an alibi for failure or when we give up!

Eliminate excuses, eliminate distractions, eliminate lesser alternatives and experience abundance!

Dude, your are the first person that I don't agree here and here is why...

How do you know that plan A will always succeed? - You can will never be able to know the answer of that question, because you can never known how your future will be like. Let's imagine some situation:

Your plan is to find job like an engineer in some company for electricity. Then you start to apply in companies who can offer you that job, but meanwhile some friend offer you a job that can be interesting for you... What you will do? Are you gonna reject that offer only because you will wait the final answer from the other companies or you will accepted and working while your are waiting for the next offer?
