What are you thinking?

I felt inspired to share this amazing quote with you all. For me, it demonstrates the subtle and incredible power of our mindset.

"Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character: it becomes your destiny."
--Frank Outlaw

It changed my life by making me aware about how some thoughts I had about myself were not serving me in my life:

"You will never have enough money ..." You'll never be able to teach, you're too scared" etc etc. Real nice, huh!

From what I have learned through my own development, it's my mindset that holds me back. It is the cornerstone from which I create success or lack of it. It seems that whatever we focus on, we create.

The quote starts off with thoughts, but where to they come from? I think they come from our beliefs. Our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us could be compared to our very own set of glasses. We are constantly wearing them and they colour our view of ourselves, others and the world around us.

What glasses are you wearing?
Who gave you those glasses?
Do you still need them?

Take some time to do some honest introspection. What are some of the negative beliefs you have that may be holding you back from creating:

deep relationships
spiritual connection
financial success
great health
a career that nourishes you

to name but a few ....

With care
Annabelle

PS. As far as I know this quote is attributed to Frank Outlaw, but it seems no one actually knows the real origin.

I can't say it about you honestbizpro, but I know if I read that quote as a preteen It wouldn't have benefited what so ever.

      Enlightening quotes...
Allowing your mind drift (to open up so many doors and possibilies) .. only to rein it back is the cornerstone of success.

That is very powerful stuff. It is important to keep your mind clear of negativity and focus on what you want and what makes you happy.

"Mind over Matter" I can't remember who actually said that one, but I have heard it my entire life.

It's true, try it. The way you perceive your life or yourself is the way others will see you. Keep focused on what makes you happy and you will have a happy life.

Great article, these ideas and beliefs have come at a time in my life where I can appreciate and understand, events that have taken place in my life where I just knew something... but didn't know how to explain or express it.
