THOUGHTS: The #1 Reason Why People Fail?

There's lots of reasons why people fail, in any endeavor. But what do you think the NUMBER ONE reason is? A reason so powerful that it covers all bases? Or as many as possible?

I have my own ideas. What do you think?

the best hitters fail to hit the ball most of the time.. the best authors killed a forrest worth of trees writing the best novel(pre computer) ..and every team but one in a in football .doesn't end up with a super bowl ring this year ..

Everyone fails more than they succeed ..and most people just don't fail enough to ever find success

This is simple. It's because they are lazy.

They misinterpret that a bad result = failure.

    It's not... it's data.

This I agree with. It ties into what I was thinking. Anyway, as Robbins says, even if everything goes totally wrong, what's the worst that can happen? That you learn something.

how many times did edison fail at inventing the light bulb ..several thousand or more ..

failur has to be factored in to the process of succedding ..the earth tried life about 5 times before it stuck and flurished ..where would we be if the earth gave up after 3 times and said oh i will just be a lifeless planet ..

honestly the obsession with why people fail ..really does no good knowing that most obese people take in more calories than they burn.. does not help you become healthy or stay thin ..

in the end it wastes time.. i know exactally why i am broke .. why i have no income .. why i am currently 60 lb over weight.. and a few thousand dollars in debt..

i can tell you exactally why and no matter how detailed i get .. it will not get you one step closer to success ..the short answer is i needed to get my head right first .. the other stuff can be easily over come and i am flooded with ideas to change..

but it doesn't do any good for you to know this.. now when i turn it around when i am able to make an income that allows me to travel around ..when i lose the weight and get back in shape.. and when i am dateing models ..

now when i have tips on that.. that might help you in your journey .

If you're not succeeding in any area of your life it can almost always be linked back to your self-image.

Read the book Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz to learn more. Absolutely awesome.

    #1 Reason Why People Fail?
Your question would have been more answerable if it were narrowed to internet marketing or MMO.

As it is now it covers all facet of life such as politics, education, music, movies, IT, Internet marketing, SEO e.t.c.

Well, on a general bases, the number one reason why people fail can be attributed to lack of knowledge/skills.

People fail for many reasons. Lack of self confidence, poor self image, no role models. If you are asking why people fail at internet marketing, it's usually because they listen the wrong people, and then expect immediate results. There are few real life success stories where someone got online day 1 and started making a fortune a week later. It doesn't work that way. Building a business takes time, effort, passion, and money. An Internet business is no different :-)

this is sort of why i have kind of shown up on these boards with a pet paeve on the who why people fail subject ..i am pretty sure anyone can sit next to the person asking this question and find multiple places the person is failing ..

It is like how do you prove american are basically stupid .. you stop them on the street and asks the who the leaders of european nation are or south american nations or china.. and don't show the people who have the right answers but show the people who give the wrong answers ..

maybe i have the false belief that success is not really helped by loading your mind with every reason people fail ..

    The #1 reason is fear.

Fear of not being good enough, not doing things right, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of not planning enough, fear of planning too much...

Whatever reason you come up with, it probably boils down to fear.

That's why most highly successful people don't think too much about consequences or failure. They just go ahead and do what they think is right. If it turns out they are wrong, they view it as a learning experience, adjust their plan, and start over.

Most people get discouraged after a few failures, some get discouraged after a few dozen, Edison did not get discouraged even after 10,000.

I have found out that I need to develop that (excuse my french) "I don't give a sh.." attitude in order to get to where I want to go.

but i have desided .. i will give a out a method called the number one way to fail ...

look at where you are .. do nothing to change it.. then surround yourself with people about where you are ..or if you want to feel better than them.. people not quite where you are .. and do everything to maintain this little safe sheltered existance for as long as possible .. if people around to try to improve their lots in life do everything to discourage or dissuade.. and if they share most of the same group.. try and turn the group against them untill they either leave the group or are put back in their place .

very few people have a network of support around them.. and very few people are willing to step outside of their current group and do what is needed for them to grasp their own success ..

Because they stop taking action. They choose to give up instead of choosing to succeed.

      What's wrong with flipping burgers?

Fair enough if you never eat burgers, however, if you do, then they're providing a "valuable" service.

Lack of action. There are a ton of reasons behind lack of action - procrastination, limiting beliefs, depression, laziness, and many more. Even people who are fed up with failing are choosing not to act. The more acting you do, the more likely it will be to succeed.

Perhaps because their plan of action is lacking.

      Step One: Start Internet Marketing

      Step: two: Succeed

Then they get lost in the maze of everything that lies in between, following numerous rabbit trails that get them nowhere, so they just quit completely lost and forlorn.

And since we've mentioned flipping burgers...

Something like this, but on a much larger scale.

In my experience, the #1 reason people fail is OVERTHINKING. They think, analyze, rationalize, argue, seek feedback, tweak endlessly, become absorbed over little details that don't matter, self-sabotage, and make things too complicated.

The reason WHY they do this is often fear of failure and/or fear of success.

The best way to defeat overthinking is to just take action - hurry up and fail fast so you can become successful.

People fail because of not being focused for a long time. If one tries hard for his focus point, one day he will be successful for sure.
