Do you hate your job?

It's always interesting to see who enjoys or dislikes their job. But to find people that downright hate right job is even more interesting. Not because they are unhappy but because they have the ability to change that in the most of extreme ways.

Back in 2009 I had 3 jobs. I was a delivery boy, waiter, and worked for UPS at the same time.

To be fair I'd still go back to being a waiter, not for the money but because I was happy.

I would never return to UPS, because I hated it.

So do you hate or have you hated your job?

I am 34 .. i have been out of work for over two years.. and du to mental stress from bi polar disorder and high levels of stress from my two long term job.. plus multiple back injuries that leave me not in a constant state of pain.. but unable to stand for more than 10 or 20 minutes without stiffening up ..then being hit with pain .. i have taken this time to heal ..mentally at least ..

Jobs are just to risky .. losing you income because you can no longer handle high levels of stress and being shifted from shift to shift on a weekly basis.. or .. after having several back injuries and seeing business drop you walk into work every day waiting to have a pink slip handed to you( but they gave us 6 months warning that they where shutting down ) ..or your just starting a job and your stiff after 8 hours and in pain.. and because you can't handle overtime they fire you ..

a paycheck is very very safe.. until it isn't so safe ..

and people wonder where the jobs are going.. the people who would create jobs are finding the risk/reward analysis for building big enough to employ people doesn't pay at this point ..

The only job I ever "hated" was a co-op I had to do as a requirement for school. I was working with the government, Ministry of Transportation and it was extremely boring and had little challenge. I felt like people there just clocked in and out each day waiting for the weekend/holidays/retirement/end of their life.

Running my own businesses are very very fulfilling.

I've had many jobs such as graphic artist, web developer, film editor, xbox repairman, etc which were mostly freelance/under the table jobs.

When all those opportunities dried up, I settled for a corporate job. I used to like doing it since I worked with a good team, but our team was given the axe along with myself. I was re-hired under a different department, but I don't really like the job anymore.

It's not the worst job in the world, but I'm just so unfulfilled and stressed out knowing that I can be doing better outside of these walls.

I'm getting closer and closer each day to finally leaving, but I'm not quite there yet.

Hopefully one year from now, I'll be looking back on these times and realize the pain I went through was worth it.

I'm still a bit new to IM so I still work my day job, but I wouldn't say I hate it. I work at a grocery store and it does kind of suck. Even so, I try to look at it from the point of view that one I will be able to look back on it from a "higher place" so to speak. Thinking about what IM can do for me in the future once my business really gets off the ground actually makes me think I'll actually miss working minimum wage for some strange reason... Not that I want to stay there though - the second I surpasse what I make there with what what I make online I'm out and never looking back!

I have a love-hate relationship with my job. I love working in sales and helping out customers, but I hate the fact it takes so much of my time and that some customers just plain suck. I also hate how my company rewards the bad customers who put up a fit because they are afraid they will leave and doesn't reward the loyal customers who stick around. It has given me a model for my own personal business though.

I could do this job and move up within the company if I absolutely had to, but in my mind this is just a temporary situation. It's not something that I am passionate about. That's why I'm learning how to make money online, so the 40 hrs a week I do work (if it comes to that) wont really be work at all.

We just posted a video of our stock trading adviser that shot it from his boat.

Most dream of the lifestyle. Its no easy 4 hour work week like the tim ferris book model. As you need to study the market to be ready to trade in the morning. But there is time to golf, fish or enjoy your boat by the afternoon. Once you get the hang of it.

If your on this forum your at least dreaming of making the home to get out of that corporate cubicle.

I also have a love/hate relationship with my job. I work 12 hour shifts overnight so I pretty much work 3 nights on and 4 off. I like the hours plus my job is pretty easy but I dont like the people I work with .... the people I work w/ stress me out/piss me off something serious!

Over the past few months i have been seriously thinking about quitting and work online full time but im not making enough online to really justify it. I dont mind struggling right now though because Ive done it before and I know I will make it eventually.

I really, really want to quit (its all I think about at work lol, everyday). I just feel like im not appreciating the fact that Ive been blessed to even have a job when so many of my friends cant find jobs but at the same time I feel like If I dont quit then I will stay at this job when I really dont want to and be unhappy, always wondering what if.

A lady was on the Oprah show describing how she become a multi-millionaire.

She said she HATED her job with a passion. She worked for a maid service & said, "I hated cleaning toilets." She said she was miserable everyday.

Unable to find other work, she decided to be thankful for her job & she started "cleaning toilets" with a great attitude. She said once her attitude shifted to the positive, she saw the opportunities in that line of work & she started her own company.

She went on to build her own maid service into one of the largest home cleaning businesses in the North/East & sold the company for $38,000,000!!

Instead of hating your job, maybe look at the benefits it offers. Even if it's only that you are able to keep a roof over your head. (that is a huge blessing!) Or, that it gives you seed capital to start your own biz.

When I was in college I worked at UPS for 2yrs, & I didn't appreciate it. I made myself miserable with a poor attitude about unloading thousands of packages on the midnight shift. A guy I worked with loved the job & moved on to become a driver & with the good income he was earning he launched a Real Estate sales biz. He went on to become one of the most successful realtors in our city & UPS helped him launch his biz. ( It's all in how you choose to look at things...)

Life experience has taught me that no one can piss you off, make you miserable or unhappy, unless you allow them to! We make the decision to react negatively to their behavior.

I just had to post a reply to this..

Thanks so much for sharing this. I think it is VERY true that it is up to YOU as the person to get as much as you want out of you job, as well as your life.

I never heard that story before, but I am glad I ran into this thread.

Also, I've had plenty of Jobs. I think the one I didn't like the most was when I had to fold cloths in a LARGE retail store that's located worldwide. Folding pants and shirts is NOT my cup of tea...hahaha

I was also use to deliver burritos for a Mexi/Cali grill and I actually liked it, not having to stay in one place all the time. Driving and moving was something that helped the time pass and moving meeting new people was awesome. It was also a great way to network believe it or not.

I was with UPS for a whole 2 nights (LOL) and I'll never go back.

That was ridiculous. Nowhere near worth it. What made it even funnier, was the supervisor would call me into his office at the end of my shift to give a "performance review" and tell me how great of an employee I was, blah blah blah.... Man, I wasn't tryin to hear that BS. I know I'm a good worker. I put 150% into whatever I do. I dont need some guy with a clipboard telling me that.

He was just trying to keep me on. And I wasn't goin for it. If you realize how good of a worker I am, then move me up.. Give me a raise.. whatever.. But don't sit there & try to play me.

But anyway, as of right now, yep - I'm completely happy with what I do.

A j-o-b is for a wage slave. With only a few notable exceptions (professional athlete, big money CEO, et cetera), nobody should desire or plan to remain in a j-o-b until "retirement" (which is a negative word, if one looks it up). Most of us need to begin our professional career with a j-o-b and that's fine, and necessary to our economy anyway. However, the objective for nearly everyone should be working one's way up to a status of self-employed, business owner, or "financially independent". That's an objective that, I think, people should tell themselves that they desire to fulfill by or before age 45.

We all know that the reality is that the vast majority of people aren't going to do this. Another hard reality: whether we like it or not, there is an hierarchy on the Earth. We want to be Warriors so that we can be in the top part of that hierarchy.

        Great observation Brant lol.

I agree with the retirement aspect. I don't wish to retire, I'd rather just live a great life and be able to do what I want, when I want.

But at the same time, everyone is their own individual person, some people actually like working for others, and it's respectable.

I've been self-employed for 2 1/2 years now and wouldn't want to go back but at the same time I wouldn't mind being a waiter at a restaurant every once in a while.

But it is more fun to add up my hundreds of sales from my app accounts.. I contract with places for years at a time if needed and if the position is enjoyable, but nothing is funner than making money in your living-room/bedroom/on-the-toilet-with-the-laptop, you get my point.

I dislike all the things that my job is keeping me from. While driving home from work after a 12 hour day, I thought about using some of that time to workout, develop a hobby, play a sport, or something like that. I think what you were getting at was that hate or anger can be a powerful motivator or catalyst in the short-term to get you taking action and making progress towards something that could change your lifestyle. When i feel angry about my J.O.B, I channel this anger and use it as energy towards building my online business, but I don't solely depend on times when I am angry in order to take action because mostly, I am an easygoing fellow. Many blessings...

I am a rare person, probably, in the sense that up until very recently I hated my work-at-home, steady-pay-every-week career path. I worked at home as a writer, and technically I was self-employed as a contracted worker for a particular online business which I will leave unnamed. Why would I hate such a Warrior-type gig? I only made just barely enough money to survive, that's why...and it was not my fault. Four years of being one of the very best ghost writers contracted to work there and I was not even close to being able to buy a car, even a decent used one.

My fellow Warriors, never undervalue your services and never let others undervalue them, not even in the name of competition. Also, never assume that just because you have an opportunity to work from home you have it made. I am now plying my talents, experience, and knowledge at working for myself, so that I will be paid what I am worth and in accordance with the value I deliver to my fellow mankind members.

Love my job as I work for myself...it can be risky but the pay off is so much sweeter than working for a chimp.

The last outfit I worked for had the amazing ability to turn opportunities into amazing failures simply because the CEO was too egotistical to listen to others and as a result nosedived with the investors' money. The upshot is I saw the signs and it opened up my mind.

I hate the very concept of a job. I can't imagine having to work at some crappy job, for crappy pay, working with people who hate their job, and working for some lazy m*r*n of a boss. I would rather be homeless and struggle in front of my laptop if getting a job was the other alternative.

I've hated all 57 of my jobs. Met some cool people but they also hated their jobs. Hated getting up too early while my head seemed super glued to my pillow, hated the traffic, hated waiting 50 hours until lunch time. Hated how every hour took 10 hours to go past, hated having to put up with idiot bosses who also hated their jobs so they hated on us. Hated for being hated for being 1 minute late, hated the speeding fines while I rushed to work to avoid being hated by my bosses, the only thing I love about my jobs was quitting them. Quitting was good. Giving the finger and doing a massive burnout right out the front was good.

Actually I did enjoy one job as a street sweeper but that was because I got to drive those footpath sweeping machines that were a cross between a go kart and a broom...but I hated the pay which was bad and every other aspect of it except the cool people and the vroom vroom sounds I'd make. Life has been better since I quit going to jobs. Discovering I could make my own money was the start of a new life.

whoever hates their job, is definitely in the wrong place, and it is time to take some action. I felt like that when very very young, and I did do my mooves to getout of that situation. Today, many years later, I am so glad I did. Now I do not hate getting up in the morning, but love it!
