Anyone ever been in a peer group/mastermind group? Why? Did it Help?

I'm thinking of looking into one of these groups to help me build my business.Has anyone here ever paid for one of these things or know someone that has joined something similar? Was it worth it?

Have you been to any of the ones in WF? Why?

I have never been part of a mastermind group but
I am curious about giving them a try. From what I
understand, when everyone is visualizing at the same
time, it creates an environment charged with creative
energy. You can't help but to get positive results.
Hopefully, someone with experience will shed some
    light on it.

Never paid for it, but did do it with a couple of like-minded friends for a while and it was very nice. Gotta have some structure to it though, otherwise it's a mess.

I've never paid to be in a peer/mastermind but I am in a few Skype groups where people bounce ideas and help each other out (when we aren't joking around). They are immensely helpful for certain types of people who are less independent. If you work well in a group I highly recommend finding one and absorbing as much as you can.

Makes sense. Interesting. Thanks. What kind of structure is good for this? Like once a week? a month? Only 1 hour, 2hour per meeting? Curious how much time is typically needed.

The groups I'm in just kind of wing it. People come and go on Skype throughout the day, no requirements or anything like that. At the moment it seems to work pretty well. If you absolutely want/need a structure though, I'd say maybe 1-2 hours at least twice a week. Give people a few chances in case they can't make one meeting.

  • Great thread.
I do have a Mastermind Group that kinda started offline with a few of my close-kept contacts but it then moved on to online since I started masterminding with some pretty badass marketers and leaders in my niche that can add a lot of value to the group.

It is an invite-only Facebook group that I created and I was surprised at the HUGE value it has since we all share things that contrast what we're good and bad at. We share resources and knowledge as well as give each other constructive feedback to each others' ideas.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in being a part of the group (dont worry, its free for Heaven's sake lol. But I at least expect a great level of commitment and participation)

    Hi

The Mastermind was first coined by Napoleon Hill in 1937 in his book 'Think and Grow Rich' when he saw the power it had with top executives like Ford and Carnegie.

In my opinion, it is next in line after having a mentor. A group of people with a common purpose of helping each other... I run mine quarterly in my inner circle.

Don't forget to check out the section on local meetings/Mastermind here on WF.

I remember being in a peer group only that instead of having a mastermind we had serious mentor giving us the necessary inspiration.

Masterminds are how most of the big names on the WF became big names.

It puts you in contact with people who can not only encourage you, but can actually provide you with resources you're going to need to reach your goals.... Things like connections to potential affiliates, copy critiques by professional copywriters, and funnel design help from people who've actually sold products before.

I 100% believe (if you don't have good contacts in your niche) you should PAY to be in a good mastermind group.

The reason why are the reasons I listed above.... If you wanna join a group where people are guessing and just spewing out what they read in their last ebook buy, then join the free ones you see all over the place. You're not going to find any serious marketers in those groups, they're too busy to spend their time with people who are just dreaming.

Get serious and join a real mastermind.
