As far as I know (I could be wrong - it's been known to happen) there are three types of people:
  1. The ignorant - they don't know that they don't know
  2. The arrogant - they feel they know so much that nobody can teach them anything more
  3. The intelligent - they know, but they think they don't know
  4. The moron - they think they're the beez neez and feel they know absolutely everything there is to know about everything. Even more so than number 2.
  • The ignorant have no idea they do not know, so they don't bother to find out.
  • The arrogant have no desire to find out more as they think they know everything. And even if they feel they're lacking, they refuse to admit it: to others or even themselves. As a result, these two groups remain both ignorant and arrogant.
  • The intelligent know. But, because they don't know that they know, they're always seeking more knowledge. As a result they become more intelligent.
  • The morons feel like they have to put their tuppence worth (it's probably not even worth that much) into everything. Both exposing their real worth and the the fact they're morons.
Oh, there's also a fifth type - idiots like me who can't count.

Edit: I left one out: The ignorant who knows he's ignorant. No matter how hard he tries or how much he studies, he just can't keep it inside his thick skull. And he knows there's not a lot he can do about it.

This is where I fit in.

And in case you're wondering - I'm not being modest. Just telling it like it is.

    #3 reporting for duty Sir!

Too intelligent for my own good 'tas often been said. Wish I could be a bit more, well 'dim' for want of a better word. Would certainly help to make life slightly easier.

It's weird the more one thinks one knows the more questions this knowledge raises anyway and the more one realizes one doesn't really know very much about anything at all.

    So what do we do?

Ask more bloody questions and off we go again around and around on the eternal merry-go-round of filling our cup with more knowledge but never quite filling it. It's rather highly annoying I can tell you.

Personally I think there's a hole in the bottom of mine.

Knowledge is one thing - intelligence quite another.

Then of course it depends upon which type of intelligence one is talking about.

There's intellectual intelligence, great until you ask him to change a lightbulb then he hasn't got a blinkin' clue. What good is that to anyone?

More importantly in my view, there's emotional intelligence, might not be the greatest analytical thinker in the world but understands love, joy, compassion, kindness etc many intuitive skills which I need to work on more. Far more important than intellectual intelligence but others might disagree of course.

Of intuition. Intuitive intelligence, always having a knack for hitting the nail on the head, being right almost 100% of the time. Necessary persona's if intensely rather annoying at times.

I better stop twittering on this garbled BS - the more I know the less I understand and at the end of the day when you kick the bucket, it's all bleedin' meaningless anyway - sods law. Strive for a lifetime to become something and what do you get at the end of it?

Big deal if you're lucky push up a few daisies that's what.

Great. Just great. That's all I need.

Now I wonder if anyone is going to fit themselves in something other than #3.

Oh don't we all like to think how intelligent we are. (By the way, since I'm a big pussy when it comes to internet fights, please don't think that I was taking a swing at anyone personally with this lol)

#4, proud moron here. I ALWAYS think I know better.

Except that every now and then something happens or I read something that bashes a new concept into that thick skull o'mine.

I think I am a number 3. But then I don't know for sure so maybe that makes me a number 1.

I was going to say #3 until I realized that everyone here thinks they are a #3. I am going to change my answer to say that I am a little bit of everything as I believe we all are. In different situations we can be considered any of those categories. It is impossible to be intelligent in every situation. I would be considered a 3 in a topic about basketball, health, nutrition, fitness, etc. but in a topic about politics I would be the ignorant one who is aware that I am ignorant. To say that you are all a #3 in every situation is kind of ironic because that makes you arrogant and ignorant

    the more i learn the more i find i don't know ..

this list is extremely negative biased and anchored in the mindset of decline .. not the mindset of growth ..

the people who normally get the impossible thing done.. are the people who didn't know it was impossible .. or they didn't know it couldn't be done ..

here is the 5th group.. the people who don't let what they know get in the way of what they want to do ..
and the 6th group the people who don't know.. don't care to know.. because they know how to get you to do it for them if they need it done and you know how to do it .

There are days where I am #1, and days where I am #3. Arrogance is not in my nature, but I will go out on a limb and say that depending on the subject, it's possible that I've been a #2 as well.

There have been so many things that I never even knew existed or thought to research, which is why I know I've been #1... but I have also never stopped learning and it is only after soaking in new things that over time I discover what I had been so ignorant about. Does that make sense? LOL

So, #3 is there as well.

    I think I am #3 and 4

I feel like I don't know a lot of things, but sometimes I get cocky, however I do not reflect this on the outside I just use it as positive self-expressionism... if that makes sense haha

I'm tempted to think I fall within category number 3 but I don't want to be arrogant so I won't say I'm intelligent (just kidding

Seriously, though, there's so much to know about IM and making money online that if you want to go further and further you can. You can spend a whole lifetime trying to learn everything about this but at the end of your life you still wouldn't know everything. That's why even if you feel you know so much, don't be arrogant and keep learning, from the bigger guys AND from the newbies, too.

As Socrates said: "I know one thing, that I know nothing."
