I was wondering before you do something big/medium or even small in regards to internet marketing, do you establish your objectives, then build a list step, by step of whats involved to achieve objectives, and how you are going to get there.

Do you find it beneficial to plan, if so why?
And what programs/sources, etc, do you recommend which helping you establish your objectives in a clear plan.

I planned according to my task. I planned by making a notes on what to do on that certain date.

I organize the day into 6 sections:

Pre Morning - breakfast, school run, dog walk, dog feed, house tidy, gym
Late morning - Warrior forum, checking emails, answering clients questions
Lunch - snacking, checking software, checking profits
    Mid afternoon - work solid
Early evening - family time, dinner, dog walks
Late evening - webinars, work, learning, reading

I stick to it and I'm fine

Here is what I do that works great.

When creating a plan for a major goal like that, first determine the major steps (i.e., creating a product is a major step, securing 5 JV partners is a major step..etc).

Then once you have those major steps listed, determine the highest priority one.

Then write a list of small tasks that need to be done to make that happen.

Once you get to that point where you have your list of tasks, it becomes very easy to get ultra-productive and just start knocking one task out after another. You don't get distracted or procrastinate as much because you know exactly what you need to be doing at any given time.

        Hi everyone,

For myself, I have an agenda to remind me of some task and for the rest, everything is in my head. I follow my feelings, I do a lot of meditation in the day.

When I worked for 1 to 2 hours, I take a break and meditate. While meditating, I ask myself for next suggestion.

That's the way I found great ideas and, found what to do on and offline. I have a routine since a while, working arround the computer.

I'm actually redesigning my webpages and blog, while almost at the same thime, looking and testing affiliate programs and soon having my own products.

        Stay tune !

Do the most important tasks first. Do not divert. Everything you do should be in alignment with the end result you are seeking.

Planning is really very important. It establishes goals and enables me to build strategies that I would think would become effective in my business.

Before I start any project I write down the following on a large sheet of paper from which I can build a mind map.

    WHAT do I want?

    WHY do I want it?

    HOW can I get it?

    WHEN do I want it?

    Prosperity

Here's a step wise approach to planning

      Step 1: Setting your objective

That is stating your aim (what you want to achieve) and your criteria or measurements (how you will know when you have achieved it).

Step 2: Collect all relevant information

This can very often lead to the amendment of either the aim of measurements under step one, in the light of previously unsuspected data.

Step 3: Decide on your main plan of action

At this point alternative approaches, strategies, and courses of action are considered, and a decision taken on which offers the greatest chance of success.

      Step 4: Program and schedule

Working out the main stages in that course of action, the sequence in which these must be taken, and the dates by which each must be completed.

Step 5: Put the plan into operation

      Step 6: On-going review

Review progress made against yardsticks and account for any variance and undertake corrective action and re-plan.

Yes planning is important of course, but is it the most important?

I think some people can get caught up in planning and never really get out of that phase. There will come a time when you have to choose between planning and just getting the job done.

I have personally learned my lesson about planning. I once heard one of the big names in personal development mention that instead of people using a Ready, Aim, Fire mentality, they should use a Ready, Fire, Reaim mentality. I took that too literally and I kept firing away at things without planning. I changed my ways so that i was still creatings lots of ideas, but I also planned each of those ideas a bit before I fired.

And as much as I learned about planning, I still think it is valuable to take a leap once in awhile. Like for example, my colleague was planning his first seminar - was stuck planning every little detail. One day we just decided - lets do it - lets stop planning for a second and take a leap. He then booked a non refundable room for his seminar.

Although that was not part of careful planning, it was a forcing function. Now all the planning we had to do had set dates, set limits and we were forced to plan quickly and properly.

Careful planning is important, but if you ever get stuck in a circle of constant planning, maybe it is time to take a leap of faith.
