How Does Changing of Keyword Impact SEO Ranking?

Dear Warriors,
I have one doubt need your advice:-

If I have been using certain keywords for my blog posting. After sometimes, I realized that this is not a good keyword and would like to change to a new one.

1. Will SEO still rank my existing post base on my new keyword? Note that I just change my keyword for all my old posting without changing the content.

2. How bad does it impact my SEO ranking overall?

    Google ranking doesn't depends on meta tags, it basically for indexing and appearance on search results by being crawled by Google bots. If your built dofollow links are at there places then nothing will get affected.

    You mean changing the keywords within the content or the meta tags?

    It may take some time (a few weeks or even months) for Google to recognize this change and give you rankings for the new keyword.

      I mean just the meta tags. So which mean is advisable to choose a right keyword to use at the very beginning.

    i think it will effect your ranking
    couple days ago i have video that rank on first page google then i change the description and put link to squeeze page and now my video at drop page five google :p

    Changing your keywords can affect your ranking especially if the new keyword you want to use is very competitive. You might start from the scratch. Why not try to add new keywords to your post instead of changing every keywords?
