Teaching can only help learning if the learner agrees with what the teacher shares.

You know the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink". Imagine now that a horse also drank oil and wine. If the horse is thirsty for wine, it needs someone who can lead it to wine. Then it will drink.

That's what we as humans are. We have an array of different possible wants out of life (like different drinks we may want). Some will not give us happiness, so we should not do (drink) them.

And when one of us finds a great way (a watering hole) to get the drink they want, they sometimes help others who want the same drink by helping them find it (and find more together).

So, what I'm saying here is this:

When Learning: Do not do something you don't want to do (do not drink a liquid that will not nourish you). Only do what you want to do, and learn from others who are doing it.
When Teaching: If someone does not want to do what you want to do, don't try to force them to do it, thinking they will enjoy it too. Don't try to force other horses to drink from the pond you found. Find the people who are happy to learn from you, and focus on teaching them, leave the rest to find what they enjoy.

When we think something is good and want to share with the rest, not all will agree with you.

When people did not ask us for something, usually it means they do not want or need it.

    True words of wisdom.

Our clients or prospects are the people who need the knowledge we have, and want to learn from from us, and our success will be determined not only by what we teach, but also in the way we teach.

Forcing yourself to do something you don't like and forcing others to do something that they don't like will not really do good. Teaching isn't easy especially if the person you are teaching isn't interested on what you are about to share or impart, this person will not learn anything at all.

This is because if we teach others we can hear as well their own experiences that sometimes makes us realize something beneficial for us. Thus interaction and continue teaching people and of course welling to listen to them well make us a good leader and learn a lot of things from them.

Awesome I really love this post.
It's true that in learning "Don't do something you don't want to do." and in teaching "Find people who are happy to learn from you, and focus on teaching them, leave the rest to find what they enjoy."

I always viewed learning and teaching this way:

The only person who can really teach you anything is yourself. Now I don't mean that schools, universities and the formal education isn't good, I'm just saying that even if you have a great teacher, he can't teach you anything if YOU don't want to be taught it.

He can simply give you the right information, point you in the right direction, but it's only you and noone else who has to commit to the learning process. The willingness to learn something new has to come from within you.

Teaching and Learning is an interesting concept.

If somebody stays in a particular activity for a while they ascend from student to master.

I see this being especially true in martial arts which I actively practice.

Learning is frustrating if you don't have somebody who teaches you the right way.

Teaching is frustrating when you can't get through to the student.

    It's a very mutual activity.

I believe that when students are actively involved in the learning task, they learn more than when they are passive recipients of instruction. Since students generally learn what they practice, it is helpful for the teacher to consider how closely related the learning tasks are to desired learning outcomes. A similar issue is how closely related test questions are to the desired outcomes. A research finding suggests that if teachers set high but attainable goals, the performance will usually rise to meet expectations.

Its about energy and intention for me. Many struggle with learning/working. They force themselves to try to get to the next level - or even begin.

Work with motivated/passionate/enthusiastic and inspired people and they give you as much momentum as you are endeavouring to give or provide to them.

I select my clients and associates with the above in mind

While teaching,a teacher can't be succeded in teaching a student if the student doesn't cooperate. And student will cooperate if he finds what he is learning interesting. Then it will be easy for the teacher to teach the student, i think.

I believe teaching and learning are inter related in every way. Do not do things you don't want to do, do not force people to do what you're doing just because you like doing it. The learner can be easily educated from this experience as well as the teacher by the way the learner accepts and learns what you teach.
