Trouble finding my entrepreneurial fit

hi everyone-
about a year ago I started getting into personal development because my health was lacking. after recovering from my addled state, I started thinking about what I wanted to do with my life.

I read the book the 4hour work week - & after that I have never changed my mind about wanting to be an entrepreneur. I knew that I was going to have to put in a lot of hard work, which is NO PROBLEM, because I want to create businesses based on my interests. My goal is to create the freedom Tim ferris describes people gaining after creating their muse businesses.

My interests are broad- music(production), snowboarding, reading&writing, driving, real estate & securities investing.
-these last two are activities I want to delve into after learning how to effectively practice them.

My love for reading & writing led to me thinking about blogging as a form of income I could then leverage into real estate and other businesses. - due to my lack of time (school, work, girlfriend) I don't think I would be able to post regularly and overall get it to the point where I have plenty of active subscribers.

From blogging I found affiliate marketing & have mused about this for some time. I like the idea of making commision off other peoples products, & would probably do this within my own blog or email list - but I don't want to devote my time to building a site soley focused on reviewing products within a specific niche.

In short, I think internet marketing could be a feesable option when trying to monetize my interests. currently I'm looking at Glen Allsop's Cloud Blueprint method of email blogging & it seems like a great option.. idk sorry for the wall of text but do you guys have any advice on how to I can match my interests to a way that makes money?..

I'm also a musician and producer.
Personally, I keep my marketing and my music separate, for various reasons.

If you want to combine your interests and internet marketing efforts, blogging is an option but it does take a good bit of time.

How about this idea: instead of building a blog from scratch, take a look around alltop.com for top blogs in your area of interest, contact the owner, and ask them if you could write a guest blog post for them.

Many blog owners love this because they have little time to write content.
When you write your guest post, leave an affiliate link at the bottom to a related product. Or, better yet, leave a link to your related newsletter and start building an email list.

    Just one idea

If your interests are broad, then try many different things. I currently have five very different internet businesses, some of them performing better than others, but all together pay for my life. The internet is great because with little overhead you can start a new business.

What really helped me was taking a year off and really learning about how to build these websites, market them properly and launch new products. This is not instant like some make you believe, but takes about a year, in my experience.

Listen, if you're serious about making something of yourself, then you'll MAKE time to make it a reality.

I used to make micro-niche websites that focused on specific keywords, specific backlinks, everything. Do you have any idea how boring it is to consistently write about something you're NOT passionate about? Sure it can make money, but every time I think about doing more it's like feeling the same feeling as going to a "job", and that's a sensation that we could all do without.

Do what I do, start a blog, and EACH AND EVERY DAY, write at least one post one it. The best part is that it doesn't even have to be SEO targeted. It doesn't need SEO at all, just things that you're passionate about. That's exactly what I'm doing with my website. I'm a "Power Motivator", and that's my passion, to constantly learn about personal motivation and life coaching so that I may help others overcome their issues, stay focused, and achieve their dreams.

That's the approach you need to take. I even just wrote a post on my website about it, about pursuing your dreams.

What Are Your Dreams Worth to You?

It has a bit of promotion at the end, but don't mind it if it's not for you. The information within is legitimate, and I will never write a post just for the sake of promotion, but rather, to provide value to somebody. All you need to do is follow the same formula.

If you think traffic won't come to a website that you've never promoted, that you won't get visitors to a blog in which you simply write a post on each day, consistently, then you couldn't be more wrong.

Daegan Smith, founder of the "Maximum Leverage" system, demonstrates through a website he created himself. It's an ugly website, he put posts on it consistently - not even every day, but consistently - and none of his posts were SEO targeted, and there were no backlinks. In six months, this website, which had no optimization, no backlinks, and no promotion, was receiving more than 350+ unique visitors each and every day.

It's possible, and it's very real to achieve similar results, if not better. You're passionate about these things - real-estate, snowboarding, music, reading, writing, secure investments, and whatever else. Create a website, a BRAND for yourself, and focus on it. You may think that nobody would want to read such a website, but that's where you'd be wrong. Make posts in such a way that you focus on things that are beneficial to others, then every now and then make posts about these other things you enjoy, such as snowboarding, places that are great for snowboarding, trips you've taken to snowboard, and whatever else. Doing this shows people that you're REAL. People don't always just want an information booth, they want a real person with real human experiences. Consider how many people get excited to hear about the trips that Frank Kern and Tony Robbins have taken, because it's real, it's a break from things. You can do the same.

I hope this post helps. You should check out the link I put in this post for some inspiration to go out and achieve your dreams. Once again, I don't mean to just "promote my site", because I like to believe I contribute something valuable in everything I do. If I didn't, I might just write "Check this site out, it has all the answers you need!"

I wish you the greatest success and happiness. You'll only succeed if you take action, start now, and consistently work towards reaching your goals and achieving your dreams.
