What are you willing to do to be your own boss?

I think this question falls under the category of success.
What are you willing to do to become your own boss?
I've put in a lot of time, energy and effort. I've also been persistent.
Maybe I'll succeed in 30 years. Lololololol.

    Hey Michael, how are ya?

You have been persistent for 6 years? A lot of energy, time and effort...

Maybe it's time to take a break, zoom out, and maybe try something different, or do it in a different way. Don't repeat what you have been doing for the past 6 years if they didn't give you the results you want.

What have you been doing so far? I checked the links in your sig & they doesn't seem focused on one project or market...

Sometimes it wise to stop for a while (don't give up), and take the time to think clearly away from "feeling guilty" or stressed about business.

I really really wish ya all the best.

I have been trying for 6 years, more persistently than not. I have taken breaks and little quasi-vacations from it. I have evolved my strategies. What have I been doing so far? Publishing, creating and trying to market content. Thank you for the well wishes!!!!!!!

        Bro,

You're more experienced than me, and must have already spent $1000's on online business courses. So I don't think reading another business/marketing book will make a big difference. Same for repeating the same process.

Can I suggest a book? Read Louise's "You Can Heal Your Life". Find it on Amazon, I still can't post links.

Most of the times, if someone wants to do something, and know how to do it right, and gave it several good attempts, and still not getting results... then it's mostly something within. If a person believes deep down he doesn't deserve something, or not good enough, or not worthy of having good things, or whatever bad belief he keeps carrying around... those believes will affect the results you get always.

        Been there bro :-)

It is an interesting question, and from my point of view, there are several things to consider.

To be your own boss is maybe a fluffy thing, and a lot of us have a picture of a guy on a beach with a laptop, with his Ferrari parked nearby :-)

But you are also you won boss if you decide to start a company and deliver packages in your hometown on your bicycle right?

I think we all dream of being able to make those six figures monthly, but it all comes down to hard work - and it is a very little percentage of us that master all disciplines within IM.

I don´t expect I would find a brand new glossy WSO, that comes with a bright green push button that would fill my bank account. However, sometimes you will find a few gold nuggets you can add to your projects.

Often it is about getting involved with a lot of stuff, because we might feel that we have to master everything, and there is a big chance, we would never manage that!

Like every other business, it is about focusing what you are good at, and get help to solve the other stuff.

Perhaps you write killer articles, later why not try to make a money out of that? Then you can hire someone to help you with the stuff that is a bit more tricky.

Some people even make a business, by making a team of freelancers and then look up projects and have their freelancers doing the work.

If you take a look at Odesk - some of the contractors, there is a part of a team, and the manager can bid on projects he can pass on to his team.

If you have spent six years without any results, I think you have to focus on something new - if you keep doing what you have done, nothing would change your results.

Just a little mind experiment... let us assume that you have bought a domain six ears ago, and started a website. If you have added an article daily you would end up with a very big site with thousands of unique articles. Same goes for videos, link building and stuff like that.

It is also about the mindset - if you keep thinking about your lack of success, there is a big chance that you would keep following that road.

You might consider slicing your goal into smaller pieces - make a goal that you want to build an Adsense site that should generate $50 a month after max three months. It is not much, but if you keep working on the site and add content you might get a pleasant surprise. Then you could move on and start site number two.

Perhaps the best advice would be to get a full-time job, and instead focus on building a little extra income every month from IM. If you make a progress, you might be able to make a full time living.

I haven't really watched the video but it seems that you are tired and you are ready to give up because you feel that 'Maybe you'll succeed in 30 years". 30 years is a long time from now to subconsciously set your goal to be successful. That mindset shows in your work. You may need to do some meditating and self-affirmations so you can come up with a clear and direct way for you to reach your goal. As far as getting a 9-5 job, that all depends on your situation and if you are pressed for cash.

Many people try to do big projects but get disappointed when things do not work out.
My suggestion is to try to take small steps , find out what works and scale up.

ah dude...not laughing at you....but very cool video. Yeah it's funny huh....be careful what you wish for....you just might get it.

So at some point in your life you thought to yourself.....hmmmm I want to be my own boss cuz I'm sick and tired of working for the man. Then you take the plunge and start your own business and soon discover....uummm this is a little tough and scary....all the pressure and responsibility is on me. Yikes. It used to be up to the boss to take care of all this stuff....and now I gotta do it.

Hey don't beat yourself up man....it's not your fault. Blame it on the school system...you're taught from grade school to do your homework....so you can get good grades....so you can go to college...and then you can graduate college and get a good job. What a crock.

They don't teach you how to be a business owner and entrepreneur in school. And there is a reason for that. School teaches you to follow along and do what you're told and do the work and get a grade and move on to the next class to take more useless stuff and get graded on that too.

Out of all the highly successful biz owners that I've met over the years...well none of them thought like the typical Joe. In school they would day dream. They were usually much more ambitious than others and had a vision of how they wanted to live their life.

Going out on your own is freakin scary. Especially if you have a family to support. No more guaranteed check every 2 weeks and no more 401k and health benefits. But....if you have what it takes to break free from corporate America and do your own thing to make money...in the long run you'll be glad you did.

I think that you should take a week off...go into the mountains...and think. Think think and then think some more. Leave cell at home. And just use your brain to ruminate over and over. You will come back with a renewed sense of self.

    Bro,

I feel you are talented enough, which also makes be believe that you know your strengths well and you know better what exactly to fix or focus .. don't you

Whenevr I go a little low:

    a) I watch : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nasI...UKnpD4H3dA_K_g

    or listen to relaxing music

    b) Do a couple of tasks or assist somebody; this strengthens my self esteem

The above 2 always has helped ! This makes focus on the task in hand and also understand happiness is not in future, do something useful ( you know it better) today, and feel it today !

Hope it helps to you too
