Yep, my exposure to "Robbo" changed my life in unmeasurable ways. I actually attended an Unleash The Power Within (Sydney 2006) and walked on the fire - changed my life. Like being thrown off a cliff - no way back without wings.

I hear ya! I attended the 2 day, 3 night event in SF some years ago and did the firewalk. Stayed up all all night that night and wrote out my plan to lose 25lbs of fat and pack on 30lbs of muscle - went to the gym for my 1st workout at 5AM that morning. Entered the EAS Body for Life contest. Finished the 1st phase, then fell down the stairs and injured my back, so I couldn't compete in the finals. After recovery, stuck to the plan and ended up at 205lbs with 8% bodyfat at 5'11".

I can't believe the number of Tony haters I come across. He is the real deal and probably the best self improvement, life strategist ever. I have read Awaken the Giant within a bunch of times and I watch a few of his vids on youtube almost every day.

Never been to an event though. I'm thinking of going to his Orlando event first weekend of November. If any of my Warrior friends are going let me know and we can meet up and say hi!

Tony doesn't like being called a "motivational" anything but it's true, he motivates the crap out of me every time. As for your husband, I've seen people come around. He doesn't need anything right now. When he needs it you'll be there with the "pleasure and pain". I find the TED speach is a good one because he's forced to deliver what normally takes all weekend in 20 minutes. The best you can do is lead by example for now.

      Here's Tony...

Hey Michael! If you're in Miami, you should consider coming up to Orlando for Unleash the Power Within--the momentum of transformation really builds over 4 days in a way a YouTube video can't show you. Likewise, JustinP, you should give it a shot. If nothing else, it's always a blast to meet up with people from the forums you hang out on.

Thank you so much for sharing that YouTube channel with us.

Having attended Unleash The Power Within here in NYC this year - I can tell you this - GO! Experience it yourself whether you are a fan of the man or not, whether you barely know of his teachings or know it all. Until you are actually THERE, you only have a glimpse of what he does.

That said, just like taking a shower, it is up to you to keep the momentum going. I walked away from the seminar all pumped up, all ready, all inspired and it went on for weeks but then, of course, it started to wind down, going to some old habits - it was then a reminder that I need to keep this up somehow.

It is why they do have a backend to the seminar with coaching, with other seminars and more (yes, there is some selling happening) but it helps for the momentum and keeping it year round.

I plan on going to Date With Destiny in December (I hope it works out) and then crew (AKA volunteer) for the next UPW.

It is truly amazing to see the transformation happen in front of you. Some of them are big. Some are small. Sometimes it won't hit until afterward.

        But it is there.

Once again, I HIGHLY encourage to go to UPW and I highly encourage to make sure you have a backend to keep the power going.

The energy is high but it is up to us to maintain it.

SIDE POINT (and no, not a promotion): If you'd like to go to one of these events, my representative has given me great deals in the past on various thing. His name is Jeffre Arguello who is just fantastic. If you'd like his email, just PM me.

And finally, listening to some the audio, I see this is from almost 13 years ago and yet he uses the exact same wordings (almost). It is like a script because fact is, it WORKS. When you have dealt with so many people over the years - there is only a handful of things that can be happening within them and with them a handful of tools that can help that person figure it out for a breakthrough.

    The man is Completely Brilliant!!!
I had the honor of traveling with him around the world a few times and be in a group of about 30 people for about a week at a time.
Funny thing is, half of us in the group went bankrupt within a year. We took giant steps chances in our company were out of our league and most of us fell on our face. Yet Tony always encouraged us to take these chances. I'm COMPLETELY happy I took them and COMPLETELY happy that I fell so hard.
That was 10 years ago. Now, almost all of us made it to the top of our industry and made it big. It takes time to implement his CORE strategies into ones life.

Thank you Mr. Robbins. You have changed my life for the better!

I've been reading his books, listening to his audio and watching his DVD many times again and again. Each time I do that, I find myself to learn something new, he never fails to impress me Brilliant coach.

I wish to attend one of his seminar soon. Unfortunately, I don't think he will come to sg, so I probably have to fly over to US.

    Who wants to join me?

He comes to Australia all the time. He even has regular "last time in Australia ever!" tours but he always comes back. Book a flight to "Western New Zealand" and come and see him. Your life will change forever. Mine did. Like being pushed off a cliff (of normality) and swan diving into the deep sea (of potential). That sounds a bit wank but it's true, the dude changes lives dramatically.

I've been a big fan for decades; went to UPW Colorado Springs here back in 2006; it was the most amazing seminar I've ever been to; very transformational. Tony sets the world's highest bar for how to deliver truly exceptional live events. The main takeaway for me was to add a 'contribution' main focus in my life. When I was at my life's lowest point, reading his books helped me rebuild my life and go on to achieve greatness and fame, and impact thousands with my own courses, seminars and publications. Robbins is well worth 'going deep' with, to learn and internalize what he teaches.

I think a sense of perspective is needed, from which we can learn even more!

Tony R is brilliant at what he does - if there's a better motivational and personal development speaker out there, I've yet to hear her/him. He is also one of the best at marketing and publicity.

On the other hand, little of the content that he teaches is original - Richard Bandler, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Jay Abraham, US Anderson, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Wallace D Wattles, he's taken material from all of them and many more, going back to Aristotle and Socrates and other Greek philosophers and mystics.

Far from being a reason to denigrate him, I think this teaches us another important lesson - it's easy to think it's all been said and done before but he has demonstrated over and over again that if you put your own spin on it, and if you are authentic, people will listen and what's more, pay to listen to you!

...and thank goodness he did! There is very little that is new thinking in this field of personal development and I thank my lucky stars that gems like Robbo" bring these timeless messages to us in a way that we can understand without having to spend eons (never) trying to figure it out ourselves.

I'm not really fussed about who said something "first" (I'm sure those old greek boys didn't think of all that by themselves either). I'm only concerned with who said it to me. Without new messengers like Tony, millions of us would remain locked in with our toxic "education system" beliefs.

I totally agree with Mr Bill. I have been working on motivational book writing for a while and the nothing beats the classics. A modern speaker/writer can add their own point of view, but the essentials of human development were discovered centuries ago. All us current writers can hope to do is bring those messages to a modern audience in a meaningful (and effective) way. Tony Robbins is the real deal in that he has a true passion for helping and teaching others.

I stayed away from years because of some vague thought of motivational speakers being rip-offs - all to my detriment. The first few times I listened I was blown away. Learning some of his influences like Jim Rohn also led me to Zig Ziglar and Earl Nighengale - all really great stuff. I was amazed how directly useful and practical it was, too!

I have been to Tony Robbin's Signature programme, "Unleash the Power Within" in London. It was an amazing experience and also a great opportunity to meet other amazing people going through the same experience. The energy was amazing in the environment. His work is truly inspirational.

I wonder if any one you is familiar w/ his "six human needs".
    It is listed as :
    Certainty
    Uncertainty
    Significance
    Love/connection
    Grow
    Contribution

At the moment I am remodelling my life based on that! so far so good!

However, I am having trouble improving on the Love/connection part. There is only little time I can spare socialising so I started thinking about improving on the connection part- connecting with self! Even though it's all new to me I understand the concept.

I would like to know what your thoughts are about the connection/love part of human needs. Any suggestion on books to be able to connect w/ yourself. Love yourself.
