Taking action isn't always the answer

Hey Folks,

Before I became an entrepreneur I always wanted to try something on my own but always let fear, laziness, excuses, etc.. stop me

Once I became a full time biz owner, I went to the opposite extreme often taking what I thought was "massive action" but it was useless... for a variety of reason.

Before you can take massive action, you've gotta own your emotional state to get the best out of yourself...

the wrong action taken massively ..does not go to well.. i agree your emotional state and your state of mind or your thought pattern is more important than the actions you take ..as massive action is easier for your habit patterns to sabotage than minor changes ..and the bigger you fail the harder you hold it against yourself.

sometimes though .. taking the plunge and make that huge step is the only way to break out of where you are ..if you are not happy where you are ..

there are to prices for everything you can do .. the price you pay doing it..and the price you pay not doing it ..

and sometimes breaking the massive action down into smaller actions you can take seperately is best ..

small actions taken every day or not taken every day many times have a bigger effect over time than massive actions ,, but sometimes if you take massive action..but fail.. look at the smaller action you could keep doing while being ok with not doing the things you are really not willing to do ..

I believe in LUCK. It stands for labor under correct knowledge.

You need to take lots of action in the right direction and as Justin said, in the right emotional state.

Like Abraham Hicks says before doing it, align with it!

How many times have people shot themselves in the foot right before they had a chance to have massive success.

Here's the distinction though, it's important to feel good while taking action, but if you're not feeling good and you can't make yourself feel good...

      still take action

Don't fall in the trap of waiting to feel good or motivated until you start doing your tasks.

If you are able to make yourself to take action no matter how you feel... even if you're so tired or afraid...

then you're bound to be successful. It's only a matter of time
and so the question is: What is the right action or right direction?

LOL... well I guess you could argue that most titles, headlines, etc... could be potentially misleading. I think you see my point.

I used to obsessively take action on small items that allowed me to avoid taking on bigger challenges and hence avoid facing certain fears.

I got better results when I took control of my emotions (including anger and fear) allowing my actions to actually be more effective.

Semantics I supposed but I got you to respond so I'm happy

Like Tony Robbins says, you can set out to see the sunset and start immediately and enthusiastically to run towards the East. Obviously, you're running in the wrong direction.

I agree, simply taking action is not the answer.

it should involved a lot of thinking before action takes place

You could be doing right thing at the wrong time.
You should always research and study first. Then plan and
prepare.. then comes the action part.

    Like Jim Rohn said:
Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

Even if you are highly excited and motivated you still need a good plan.

I like Tony Robbins materials. One of his teachings to get what you want:
1)What you want? What is your outcome?
2)Why do you want it? What is your purpose?
3)What you need to do? Your "Massive Action Plan"

    This sums it up.

Have a long term plan before you go off to the end of world "taking action." That's what I figure anyway.
