What have you been unwilling to do?

This is one of my favorite topics.
The “unwilling to do” list.

Are there actions you have been unwilling to take that COULD be moving you closer to your goals/dreams?

(BTW I obviously am talking about actions that DON’T harm other people… you know, ethical stuff lol)

If you have things you are unwilling to do I want to challenge you to trash them and get to work. Where might your life take you if you commit to this?

I just think there's no point in doing things you don't want to do

Actually my point was almost the opposite

I'm challenging people to do some of the things they may not "want" to do because they are uncomfortable. If you were unwilling to do them BUT they will help you move towards your goals... then GO for it

        Justin ,

I think this is a brilliant post and I for one hold my hands up.I hate hate hate getting in front of the camera , I hate hate hate the sound of my own voice so anytime I see potential or am required todo you tube well you guessed it, I hate hate hate it or more than likely I shy away from it.And yes it hurts my business and yes it's silly and yes like most things once you do it it is never as bad as you expected

        Great post

          Hey Peter,

I feel you man, it's the same for me when it comes to public speaking..

Before I do it, I feeling like, I'd much rather stick needles in my eyes..

After I've done it I'm feeling like "That wasn't so bad after all"
in fact sometimes it's even, "Hey that was fun I want to do it again,"

Sometimes doing the things that your unwilling to do,
          bring you the biggest rewards..

          All the best..

Do you know you really got me thinking there. And i am even more confused now.I do public speaking almost daily and i love it .I get a buzz from it and i can do it at the drop of a hat without even thinking about it.So i wonder why i hate doing things on you tube , i guess its a control issue , inside the room i have control over the distribution whereas once it goes onto you tube well who knows.I understand this is a totally irrational train of thought but its just how i am built.Great conversation though

Thanks for the great feedback Peter. Haha I totally understand. I HATE HATED my own voice and videos for the longest time. But I wanted to get into speaking, coaching and teaching so badly that I just worked through it.

Now I actually enjoy it... but it took me a few dozen audios/videos before I got accustomed to it. If you really want to do it, I would say just get started and get through that uncomfortable stage. Its not that bad once you've done it for a while.

GO FOR IT... you'll be glad you did it

    You're a public speaker??

Now you have no choice dude... you HAVE to start posting videos. I dare you to do it.

Post them in this forum if you need to. Its a safe start and most people in here are very supportive. I mean, business is a tough enough "game" as it is. What is it like 4% of all businesses survive the first 10 years?

Of that 4% how many actually thrive and become profitable?

If you are in the internet business and speaking/teaching is even a portion of what you do... why would you limit your chance at success by shying away from the single most powerful marketing tool you have? Video marketing?

I have had people from across the world happily and confidently spend 1000s of dollars on coaching or other consulting because of video.

Run... don't walk to that video camera....thank me later LMAO

Fear what keeping people to hold back. Good example, getting infront of camera with many people watching you. Its great, easy to get your point.

Hey cool Pete, glad I sparked some neurons firing for you..

Its a funny thing, I did a lot of telemarketing and used to cringe when I listened to playbacks of my calls..

It felt so uncomfortable, but I forced myself to do it at least once a week..

What happened was by doing it over and over, I got to the point, where I started accepting the way I sounded on the play backs..

Then I started to self coach myself, tweaking my script listening to how the changes sounded and monitoring my stats, (all the good ol stuff we learn as internet marketers,) the people in my team thought I was nuts..

But I got to the point where I kicked their asses in sales and and I did it easy..

So with that in mind I have to say I agree with Justin's comment below.. You HAVE to start posting vids.. No choice dude

Cause if you do that and tweak each one as you go along, You'll soon be running a muck..

(And I'll have an ale with you when you come up to Derbyshire)
