Things That Are Easier Than Following Your Dreams

I stumbled upon a good blog post today. I think I might print it out and pin it on the wall in front of my desk.

What do you think about it?

Here it is:

Things That Are Easier Than Following Your Dreams | Cordelia Calls It Quits

Things That Are Easier Than Following Your Dreams
  • Sleeping.
  • Buying stuff.
  • Watching all 500 seasons of Dancing with the Stars to prep for the All-Star edition.
  • Doing what everyone else is doing.
  • Caring what the Kardashians/Lohans/Byneses of the world are up to.
  • Not rocking the boat.
  • Hating your job.
  • Moaning about how tired you are.
  • Bitching about how you don't have the time.
  • Resenting other people who are "lucky enough" to be following their dreams.
  • Talking about how you're going to follow your dreams.
  • Daydreaming about following your dreams.
  • Reading tons of books and blogs on how to follow your dreams.
  • Writing lots of pro/con lists, business plans, and mind maps about how you're going to follow your dream.

Things That Are Harder Than Following Your Dreams
  • Regret.
  • Wondering "what if...?"
  • Knowing you could have, but you didn't.

Um, unless the point of that was to make people want to quit, I think it was a poorly planned/written post. Just listing the factors does nothing to elicit an emotional response. You have this nice long list of pleasurable things to do, and then three negative aspects that can easily be brushed off. They're just 11 words at the bottom of the page after all, and aren't quantified or qualified in any way.

It makes for a good lesson on motivational writing at least.

Actually, many of the things in this list can help you achieve your dreams harder. I mean procrastinating in any way you think just makes you waste time that makes it harder and longer for you to achieve your dreams. Discipline... develop good habits and techniques and those things will help you achieve your dreams.
