Network Marketing and Farming

We who are in Network Marketing are very impatient with the whole process. We want INSTANT results NOW. When it doesn't happen right away, we tend to look somewhere else because the grass looks greener on the other side.

Why do we think the whole process of building a business from home will be any different than any other aspect of our lives? If we decided to be a doctor, lawyer or teacher, we would have to be patient with the process of getting trained for the job.

Network Marketing is no different. I think we can learn a lot from farmers.

There is alot we can learn from farming that we can apply to our home businesses.
1. Just as a farmer sows seeds into the soil and then waters and feeds the ground, so our attitude to our home businesses should be the same. We are just planting seeds into the minds of our prospects.

2. Just as a farmer waits patiently until the earth produces the fruit, so our attitude should be also. We plant seed, then we wait patiently for the people to respond.

We cannot force the process. It WILL happen, but not on our time table.

Just as a seed needs TIME to germinate, so does the mind of our perspective business builder.

Our job is just to spread the seeds of the dream and then just WAIT until they come to us.

Just as a farmer must work and till the ground, by plowing, watering and providing nutrients, we nurture the ground by staying in contact with our prospects, offering them valuable tools, resources and information about building a business and by building a relationship with them.

Our attitude should be to sow more value and more prosperity, into the lives of those we are prospecting.

Just as a farmer needs to sow into good soil, so we should find good soil also.

Advertise only where your targeted niche hang out. Don't waste your seeds on unprofitable soil.

Just as it says, "If you scatter sparingly, you will reap sparingly. If you scatter generously, you will collect generously.

Very Well said. I think we are taught that it is supposed to be easy. Anybody who tells us that we should run right? Owning your own business is fun, exciting, rewarding, HARD, exhausting, and sure beats having a job, but it is NOT easy.

The only thing I would add is you have to provide leadership to your fellow farmers on your team. You have to help them educate their expectations, which you do quite well here. I would say another aspect of leadership is providing the farmers with the exact scientific approach on how to spread the seed. Systems work...

    to your success
