Do you know what motivates you .. or do you have to implement artificial means of motivation.. that need regular reinforcement in order to do you any good.

I use to be a heavy gamer ..but in the last year everything out there lost it's appeal.. i am not really lazy when i can or have put 16 hours a day into a game for weeks at a time ..and when i am not gaming and want to learn about a subject i can consume 3 or 4 books a week ..now i watch as many youtubes and listen to as many interviews by authers as possiblw when a subject interests me ..

I have always had bad dietary habit and eaten a lot of junk food but until i hit 30 a few years ago i stayed in decent shape .. then last year i had to start cooking for my elderly parents and learned i could cook .. and it is totally different from my mothers cooking style .. which is why i was prone to eating fast food instead of her cooking ..

Now as I put my life back together and start to rebuild .. I look over my past activities and wonder what i got out of gameing.. and when i worked what things i liked about the jobs and drove me to do a good job ..

for me i am finding money is not a real motivator.. having stuff is not a real motivator ..and power is not much of a motivator ..and being the absolute best is not a motivator ..

my own main motivators involve thing where i can do and make mesurale rapid progress while having fun or at least while the jumps in progress seem worth the time involved .. i find i am not really motivated to be rich but to find a way to always have enough money to do things that i enjoy doing that i feel like i can get better at doing ..Interestingly up to this point i have been able tp make progress on several thing with almost no money .

Now though my environment is very toxic for my progress on many issues in my life and i need enough money to get in a different environment that i can set up to support my growth ..and improvement ..

I won't complaint about the environment i am in now as it's purpose in my life was to beat me up until i chose to grow out of needing to be beat up to grow ..if i had moved anytime before I would have gone with me and ended up building another environment around me that beat me up ..

so my main motivation are growth and surrounding myself with support ...interestingly enough this is what i got from playing mmorpgs..now it is just grasping the confidence to start leveling up in real life

My motivation is helping others, showing others I can succeed where they think they can't. To grow day by day as a human and spirit.

My motivation is my future and money, since I'm going to need money to live the future life that I want. I don't plan on having a lot of material possessions like a sports car or a big house (there's nothing wrong with these, just not my cup of tea), but I do plan on living a fulfilled life, like traveling a lot. So I guess my main source of motivation is my boyfriend, who I'm also in business with. We're working towards the same future, and with that kind of goal, it's nice to have someone to lean on.

I think I have a lot of intrinsic motivation. My business and simply DOING it motivates me a great deal. Of course, rewards, such as, money also help, but I don't think they are dominant in my case.

My motivation are my wife and kids. They are the ones who inspires me to work harder and harder each day. And it really feels good once you have given them all the support and when they appreciate it.

Thank you Odahh for sharing with us your past.

That are many things that motivates me. I have a very unpleasant past, I failed high school, I used to fight, I gamble, I smoke, I drink. It's a complete mess. People look down on me saying that I wouldn't be able to make it in society (including my teachers, friends, relatives etc). I'll tell you honestly that part of what motivates me is revenge. Instead of punching them in the face, I feel that it is more relevant to prove it to them.

Of course, revenge is not my only motivation

You somehow reminded me of my past.

I'd much desire to have a house on the beach. I already own the land (it was a property of my grandpa), so I just need to save some money for the actual house. It's a paradise there!!! The words aren't enough to describe it. I imagine that after my morning run, I'm standing on the beach, listening to my favorite uplifting music and watching the sunrise... My motivation boosts instantly. I'm only 20 though, so the life is still in front of me.

I love helping people, and making people happy. As hurting someone is easy then bringing smiles on their face. It gives me a great satisfaction when I am able to help a person or solve his problem in some or the other way.

I also motivate myself by saying, you need to be active and it really helps!
